time between pc'ing rye and inoculating
    #3394550 -

I pc'd my qt jars of rye after 16 hrs of soaking. 6 jars total, pc'd 4 last night and 2 tonight. I did this impatiently because I am EXPECTING my spore syringe tomorrow. I looked at my jars that were pc'd last night and I am wondering if I should worry about the rye drying out before i noc them up. The jars I pc'd tonight look drier after pc'ing than the ones last night did. And which temp is best for them right now being pc'd but not inoc'd.

Hook me up, please.

Im getting EQ's and B+

Room temp is fine. Im not sure how much that rye will dry up on its own, but it should stay pretty moist. Also, not exactly sure what the shelf life of a PC'd rye jar is, but im sure your good for at least a few days.

what difference would it be with the rye drying up right now and the 5 days after you inoculate while spores are germinating? Spores dont stop the rye from drying out.... you're fine, relax. I sometimes wait a week before innoculating.
