Yeah, great movie. Has deep insight and analogies, worth watching a few times actually.

I love that movie. I can never get tired of watching it. I might try watching it on shrooms one day.

I saw it for the first time last week, completely blew my mind.

There were a few moments where I lost what they were talking about, and I said to myself "if I was on mushrooms, I'd still be on track right now."

:P

That guy was definitely awesome.

I also really liked the fella with the gas can... I TOTALLY did not see that coming. I love how casually they introduce each element. (I worded that in a way that won't give away what I'm talking about to anyone who hasn't seen it yet, hehe..)

I also like Alex Jones, driving around, trying to get people to wake up about the state of the government nowadays...I used to watch his show all the time here in Austin.

Oh shit, that guy was AWESOME. I forgot all about him. I didn't know his name.. but what a fucking awesome speech.

I love how at the end he says something like, "That's it, I'm done. Ball's in your court."

Do you know what pretentious means?

Here, let me help:

"Claiming or demanding a position of distinction or merit, especially when unjustified."

Feel free to explain how this movie examplifies that definition.

This is a forum occupied by intelligent individuals who present REASONS for their boldest of statements if they should go so far as to see a reason to make such a bold statement.

If you can't oblige to that, don't expect much of a warm welcoming from anyone.

Waking Life is one of the standards of excellence that I aspire to in my journey as an artist. So much emotion in each frame of the movie, every element on screen pulsating with life and meaning and intent. I have a huge amount of respect for the incredible array of skill and vision it must have taken to make Waking Life. To my mind, easily one of the most carefully and skillfully crafted works of entertainment ever assembled by humans.

Speed Levitch: Life is a matter of a miracle that is collected over time by moments flabbergasted to be in each others presence.

Speed Levitch: The ongoing WOW is happening right NOW.

pre?ten?tious    ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (pr-tnshs)
adj.
Claiming or demanding a position of distinction or merit, especially when unjustified.
Making or marked by an extravagant outward show; ostentatious. See Synonyms at showy.

pretentious

adj 1: making claim to or creating an appearance of (often undeserved) importance or distinction; "a pretentious country house"; "a pretentious fraud"; "a pretentious scholarly edition" [ant: unpretentious] 2: intended to attract notice and impress others; "an ostentatious sable coat" [syn: ostentatious] [ant: unostentatious] 3: of a display that is tawdry or vulgar [syn: ostentatious, kitsch]

"Sartre, Philip K. Dick, Kierkegaard, Plato, Nietzsche, D.H. Lawrence - okay, I get it, your liberal arts penis is twelve feet long. Huge liberal arts donkey dongs aren't inherently good movie making material, though. Especially swanging liberal arts donkey dongs that don't do anything except say what has already been said by guys that have been dead for more than a century.

A good film will integrate philosophy, classical literature, and the like into its plot without shoving its pretentious cock in my eye. The Matrix (the original) kept its philosophy very basic, didn't resort to name dropping, (HAY GUYS I READ SARTRE IM COOL AM I RITE) and was more mentally stimulating."

quote from the movie:

On this bridge, Lorca warns: Life is not a dream, beware, and beware, and beware. And so many think because then happened, now isn't. But didn't I mention? the ongoing WOW is happening right now. We are all co-authors of this dancing exuberance, for even our inabilities are having a roast. We are the authors of ourselves, co-authoring a gigantic Dostoevsky novel starring clowns."

shoot me.. please

btw.. you're pretentious for liking this movie and questioning me...
<3

oh and the animation in this movie gave me a headache.. what a clusterfuck..

go watch I heart huckabees.. at least it presents this stuff in an interesting fashion.. that's called talented movie making :blush:OOOO

You're very right. I am clearly very pretentious. :frown:

P.S. I liked I Heart Huckabees for it's core moral values and methods, but if we're going to discuss the presentation of a film, I think the acting sucked pretty bad in that movie. Atleast for the first 15 minutes.. then you just get used to it and move on.
