Growing mushrooms off of cow dung

hello, i dont have much time to post this, so i will be quick about it....... my friend came over to my place today, and gave me a baggie with a hunk of cow shit in it. i took a look at it and to my delight, it had over 20 shroom pins showing on the surface. he told me that he found it in the cow pasture, but he didnt want to pick them because they were too small. indeed, these P. Cubies were not even the size of a pin head. so we decided that we would try to grow them. but the problem is, we have no idea on how do do it! we need some help, has anyone ever tried to do this? if so we could use some of your wisdom right now, and it would be very much appreciated. thanks...

Your friend ruined a perfectly good shroom producing patty. Leave them in the field. If you want to grow, start with spores not colonized patties.

I agree, probly shoul've left it in the field, it was doing fine as you can see.  But can't stop the terror thats already started so, try just sticking the pie in a terrarium and see if it will still do its business there.

4 out of 5 inmates agree.  The FSR is better than being raped by your overweight roomate!;)

i came home from work today and checked out my shroom pattie, here are the results:

1. Two of the 20 shrooms have grown over an inch sence the past 9 hours.

2. i noticed that 13 more pins have poked out.

3. i got exited so i pulled the pattie out to further examine it. i found that there are 4 mushrooms on the bottom trying to find thier way towards the florecant light i put up for them.

4. i picked one and ate it to see how they taste, they actually taste quite good! (probably because they are so young.)

5. there is another species hardly worth mentioning that is growing on that heavenly dung ball, Psylocybe Corophelea.

6. im hungry.....
