Types of dung
    #456616 - 11/13/01 01:00 AM (15 years, 4 months ago)

I was wondering if different kinds of dung produce better crops, or if some should definatly be avoided. I see a lot of posts on cow dung, but how about horse, llama, chicken, dog/cat (?), deer, rabbits? Just curious...

I've also heard that for domesticated animals, there are things that can be put in the feed to prevent mushrooms from growing from the dung. Is this true and would it affect using the dung after pasturization?

Thanks for any help!

I use horse dung, the more dry the best, cow dung is similar some say it's best. Any dung from vegan animals will do, avoid cat or dog. As an example, i did some manure consisting in horse, pindgeon and rabit dung (all from my small farm) + dried hay straw, gonna try it with pan cyans with a mixture from that manure and verm.
As for the 2nd issue it's possible but i'm not really sure.

Peace,
MAIA

I'm using the bat guano but I will say this if you don't sterilize the bat crap well it is loaded with mold spores but it seems to work great though because my fruits are nice and juicy!
