To all who supported Kerry and believe in democracy...
    #3313653 -

You should be happy, because THE PEOPLE have spoken.  Isn't democracy grand?

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

Yea I'm afraid my opinion of "the people" has been lowered. It turns out this country is more conservative than I thought. I don't fit in here, I don't belong. America, love it or leave it, right? God at least I won't have to hear that jingoist rhetoric anymore.

I agree.

When I woke up... finally, I was happy the country DECIDED something.

The last four years of being devided were painful... entertaining, but painful.

At least, now I know where the country stands.

My candidate didn't win, but I'm still proud of my country (as a whole)...even though it still stands divided.

In my area, there was an 80-85% voter turnout.

For that I'm amazed and appreciative of my area.

Unfortunately for me, the bigger county to the north just trampled all over us and turned this state red...

what I meant was that if people were too lazy to "speak" then who cares, they had their chance to speak. Bush received the most votes EVER by a president. That's impressive no matter if you support him or not

i wont argue the will of the voters..but i should also point out that the republican movement is a slippery slope that generates its own support...as such..an even more right-wing candidate will be elected in 2008...

Perhaps they arent lazy Inny, perhaps they just realise the futility of the whole excercise. I dont vote here but im not lazy and I have a fairly good knowledge of the political situation in my own country.

No they are either to lazy or just don't give a shit. Either way who cares? They'll get what the voters decide they will get. I'm not one of these people who believe my vote doesn't count. Every vote counts and just like everything in life there is a winner and a loser.

That's debateable...if you don't vote you don't have a leg to stand on when things don't go your way.

Lol! So if I vote for a party that doesnt get in I suddenly "have a leg to stand on" or are you suggesting that if I dont voice I have no cause to complain about how things pan out?

yes. Just because you lose doesn't make your voice any less important. You do know that the election wasn't just about the president don't you? Politics is local ya know. People died trying to fight those that didn't want us to vote, the least we could do is check a friggin box.
