OK Im making a terrerium that is a 68L rubbermaid container, that will have the use of perlite and having the cakes rest on a muffin tray. My only problem is the window I was thinking about using a transperant overhead sheet (used in schools) as the window (its 8" by 11" normal paper size) and taping it down then putting a layer of syran wrap over that. Would this be fine or should the window be bigger.

I used plexiglass for this, cut and siliconed to the bottom, then used sheet metal screws to hold it on good, using 'just' silicone wont hold it, you need the screws too.

For anybody trying this method, be forwarned that you should pre drill the plexi glass and lid first, and hand screw the screws.....It really kinda sucks when everything is looking nice then all of a sudden you relized you held the trigger of the drill to long and a crack shoots across the plexiglass.
