Like z@z said, spraying on anything that you don't have permission to is wrong, regardless of if its private or public. I don't get how you justify its ok to paint on businesses? Don't you realize someone owns that business? They have to pay to have it covered up.

i agree to a point. i have found that a lot of buisnesses quite often enjoy have nice grafiti on their stores. it does 2 things (that they seem to care about). brightens up and makes their store noticeable. that often means more buisness (lots of grey areas, btu it works pretty good sometimes). also prevents other more offensive grafiti (usually). i think many buisness owners enjoy have respectable art on their walls. beats having "555-5555 for a good lay" or "KKK" or some shit writeen all over the place.

im about to do a train bridge possibly. liven teh risty hunk of shit up a bit. i also never do stone. ever. dunno why, just bad joojoo to me.

I have a friend that would go into shopping centers and get onto roofs where he could paint adjacent walls of surrounding buildings with higher roofs. He loved it because he could see everything happening, but his art was still in a very visible place.
I used to skateboard a lot, and a lot of great places to skateboard would be ruined because some little kid would spray-paint something like "SKATEBOARD OR DIE" or something silly like that. I think as long as it looks good and/or is thoughtful, it should go anywhere besides someone's personal property. I don't mind seeing large, chain businesses getting tagged. The managers do not have to personally pay for the removal (which is inevitable in my town.) I don't like the idea of tagging small businesses where the owner would have to pay out-of-pocket for removal expenses.

Oh, by all means, if a business sanctions grafitti, cool, but what I'm saying is, if doing it without permission, its wrong, period.

I'm not saying I haven't seen some impressive/thoughtful/beautiful art work, I'm just saying, in principle, its wrong to do if you don't have permission.  It'd be like if I was out at a bar and saw your girlfriend and took her home and taught her suck a mean dick by practicing on me, even though you might benefit, its still wrong without your permission

:rotfl:  whatever helps her method. lol.

i do agree, but sometimes it is a statement.  this summer up island someone went around to various buisneses and totally riped em up.  heres the one si remember.  and man, it was big bold and not pretty!  but awsome.

BMW dealer: "Fuck Status"
Staples: "....consumerism....."  cant remember but it was a doozy.
Pet store: "No more puppy mills, suppor the SPCA"
there was lots more i didnt see em all though.  they hit up costco, wal mart, liquor stores, casino and soem gas staions.  it was pretty amazing, the cops were absolutly stunned.  man it was great!

Well the government spies on all of us and what we do on the net without our permissions..if they are going to set this up as an example, then how can they expect us as the little people really know any better?

Painting can be a great thing. Just don't be stupid about it.

If that is the case then when you ask them they will let you paint their property.

totally.  i dont either.

z@z.com  well teh good artists are known city wide it seems.  some store owners pay these guys to decorate their building.  i have 1 friend who has asked numerous buisnesses about doign their wall.  they talk a bit decie on guidlines and he goes to work.  it can totally work.  just go about it in a respectfull way.  its a good way to get yer paint paid for

lol ekom.  i have no idea what your talking about?  positive and negative are best left at school

so you'd get a 0.......

heheheheheh, think positive. Not if they paint on the business I own, then I'd be thinking of a shotgun sticking up their ass 'till they painted over what they sprayed......

Hmmm..... now we're getting into grey area....most coporate companies started as small businesses, and became coporate because of success, so you're going to punish companies for being successful, definitely sounds Canadian, sorry, had to....

Honestly, I think painting anything that you don't have permission to is punishable by being scared shitless by a shotgun, but that's just me......

"so you're going to punish companies for being successful, definitely sounds Canadian"

your point being?

i woudl also look into how exactly they got successfull....  not everyone makes money in a moral ethical legal way.  perhaps that needs to be pointed out, via taggin  :crazy2:
