You can plant them right away. I leave them a couple of hours to be on the safe side, and never lost a plant.

I have noticed that Pereskiopsis cuttings root much faster when they are allowed to callous. Perhaps the callous trigers root production.

When I root a Periskiopsis cutting, I just place it in a growing medium after I cut it. I don't let it callous. I normally keep it in a humid container for 7-10 days.

I've yet to lose one yet.

The only exception is for the new growth that occurs on the part I graft to. I let some of them grow to about 2 inches and then put rooting gel on it before rooting it. This is the best way I have found so far to increase my Periskiopsis stock.

Hope this helps.

I don't think it needs any callous at all. In fact, one cutting I put right into water and it rooted. I take the cutting, put it in wet soil usually and cover with a clear dome. After about 10 days to a couple weeks I take it out and it starts growing. They like lots of water and frequent ferts, also sun. Just remember to use gloves or wrap them in something when you handle them.

Treat it like you would a houseplant, the stuff roots soooo easily. Those should still have all their leaves on and will probably root within a week. I use a standard potting mix with a little extra perlite for aeration. The roots love it. Humidity does seem to help keep the leaves intact. Normal house temps are perfect and you should be able to take cuttings about every 4 weeks.

Ive been cutting mine and going right into soil. For one i decided to go to better coco based soil over poting soil. When I pulled it out after only 5 days of rooting it had 3x 1/2" roots! I give them all 7 days from cutting to back under the flos and they all love it!
