Yes it should do the trick .
Do you guys have any Ace hardware stores up there in Canook land ? They sell it , and it is usualyy kept in the sundry section it is used in boats , motorhomes and such for absorbing moisture , it is also used for keeping closets dry . So when you ask for it give them a description of use , other than drying out mushies and food , that is why they may look at you like a fool .
You could also try looking in camping supply stores in the RV , boating areas for it .

I can't recall any Ace Hardwares in Canada...

I guess The 75% stuff would do, even if it has to stay longer in the drying chamber. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying Damprid - damn that shit's pricey for how much you get :eek:

Got Epsoms Salt around? I use a dehydrator but if I use some sort of desiccant thats what I use. Nice and cheap. Just toast it in the oven on a pan first to cook out some of the moisture.

Cousin ITfound a whole shit load being discontinued in a grocery store and stocked up on a shit load of it . 45 cents for 1 pound bags !
Gotta love bargins shoppers !

On an average a 5lb tub costs about 6.50 here in the US and it will last for many harvests , and can be reused by baking it in the oven , so one or two "donations" from friends more than pays for it !
