wet jars

hey all, I was just curious, as a first time grower, there is water sitting on the bottom of my jars i innoculated on the 8th of this month and there is no sign of growth... can anyone help?

The water isn't a good sign, but be patient and give it more time. Water on the bottom won't stop the spores from germinating. It may interfere w/ mycelial growth and/or make the substrate more susceptible to contamination, though.

It'll most likely be a field day for contams if you try. Sounds risky.

You can get rid of some dampness later by loosening the lid(s) to allow evaporation an outlet.

What sort of setup do you have? Holes in lids? Filter discs?

see... if your jars were colonized , and the water was from condensation i'd tell you to flip your jars around... but you have no growth ... so .... i guess you should wait...but like someone else said it's just screaming contaminants.... peace
