Hi; I was wondering if anyone can identify the following mushrooms. I am from Southeast BC, Canada and found the mushrooms under conifers in the mountains this fall. They are 6-12" in diameter. I was wondering if they were edible or not. Thanx in advance Hawken

At a glance that looks like a Leucopaxillus. See if the gills peel easily from the underside of the cap. That's a fallible test that can help to identify them. Leucopaxillus are noted for being bitter or indigestible and therefore not worth eating.
Happy mushrooming!

Thanx for the help. I looked up Leucopaxillus and found it was that specie. In fact it is Leucopaxillus Giganteus. Not edible. Hawken
