If I didn't know better I would think you were related to ShroomMasterMeth.First of all this is bullshit. Psathyarella foenisecii (which you mis-spelled) is actually Panaeolina foenisecii ANd also pereviously known as Psilocybe foenisecii and Panaeolus foenisecii and/or the Haymowers mushroom, so aptly named because of its massive appearence during the hay harvest. It is neither edible or psychoactive although it contains tryptamines which have no psychoactivity such as trytophan, 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin)), urea and other related compounds. Some people have made tea out of two to three hundred mushrooms with no effects. High Times Magazine even went so far as to claim it as America's Home Harvest Mushroom, common throughout the USA. BS You said you read this in the Mushroom Bible. What Mushroom Bible? There is no mushroom bible. period. This is Bullshit misinformation Forestfogres. Hey,man.Trust me these things were gourmet .Mmm yum yum.No ill effects.Ive eaten handfuls of these things .they are harmless.hmm.seritonin and its precurser,sounds anti-depressant.We may have a blessing on our lawn as of yet.Perhaps if grown with a tryptamine containing plant they would potentiate eachother.

I certainly think that misinformation has to stop, even I have been misinformed at times, and disinformed at times ... ;(
If someone is spreading wrong information regardless of who he/she/it is it must stop.
We arent dealing with some pansy here, some of those mushrooms can kill you and if that happens who is to be help responsible.
As a part of the community I firmly believe that it is our duty to stop the spread of misinformation.
I can understand that MJ sounds mean, but he does it cause he knows the power of the shrooms and what they can do !
If you dont like to be set straight then this isnt the place. Go take your bullshit some place else !

This is not misinformation guy's.This "mushroom bible does exist."mushroom bible" is just a figure of speech, because it has soo many mushrooms in it, and an illustration for every growth.It even has most of the psilocybe's in it.I'm telling you.If anyone is spreading misinformation, its the ones accusing people.It's called self projection.

Again like my friend Psylosymon writes "What is the name of the book.I do not beleive this. Not from the forestry. It doesnt't exist and there are a total of 214 ppyxhoactive mushrooms world wide-(of which 170 species contain Psilocybin and/or Psilocin). I wrote that book myself so I know. You say it has almost most of the Psiloybe's in it. Well only two books have a lot of Psilocybe's. one would be Guzman's The Genus Psilocybe (100.00 US dollars and out of print)and has no color photographs only line drawings of species and spores. and then Paul Stamets Psilocybe Mushrooms of the World. Of course Paul doesn't have all of the species either. And neither is a book put out by the Forest Department. Mj

Hehe that was actually one of the many books I used to identify mushrooms! I found most of the books only had a few psilocybe species each. I can't remember for sure, but I think this one had a few, not that many though. I'm trying to recall, but I think it had p. caerulipes and libery caps (sorry forget the spelling of the latin name) and maybe a few others. Psathyarella/Panaeolus foenisecii was definately in the book, and yes it did say that it was edible and possibly hallucinogenic in larger doses. I am not saying that is accurate information, I didn't write the book and if there's one thing I've learned from the shroomery, mjshroomer knows best.------------------

Well if it is the Audubon book that is a far cry from a mushroom field guide which you originally said was published by the Department opf Forestry which Forestfogres originally described in the post above.Well if it is it ius known as the Audubon Field Guide TO North American Mushrooms, editied by Gary Lincoff (a good friend of mine) and published by the Audubon Society. Not the US Forestry Service as you implied. I also do not beleive that Gary Lincoff referred to it as a Gourmet Mushroom and he is incorrect that it is edible. Yeah you can eat it but it has no properties and taste very rancid. MJ

The Audubon Field Guide to North American Mushrooms does look like somewhat like a bible in dimension and with the same onion skin type of pages. Just an observation.

That book is far from a psilocybe picking "bible".It has very few psilocybe species.But it does contain many other mushrooms in it.Definetly a good book if , like me,you like to identify every mushroom you see .I use to have it a few years ago, but you know what happens sometimes when you lend shit out.Oh well I still got a descent collection of psilocybe and non psilocybe books.------------------

I find they taste much like shittakii,I don't recall noticing any discomfort caused by consuming a handfull.The only effect I noticed was a placebo feeling I usually get from consuming any kind of fresh mushroom or tea.I may have felt a little more though.Anyways I eat them every time I visit the park(If they are growing).Oh yeah.One time I found some mushrooms in the woods growing on a piece of wood.They had beautiful dark blue feet fuzz.I took them in the house and kept the peice of wood in a sealed jar.I got to watch 2 more succesive flushes unfold over a period of a couple of weeks.Any ways It was interesting.I think they were in the myceana family or something.They sure resembled liberty caps though.Dont worry i didn't eat them.
