To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

God, I am so sick of hearing about controversies that occurred
thirty years ago. I think that most Americans are more concerned
about what Kerry and Bush plan on doing if elected.

That is part of the plan... people that are fed up with politics do not vote.

But CNN keeps telling me that I should worry about what happened 30+ years ago... what they plan to do now doesn't matter...

Again, part of the plan... they both have the same agenda... much better for us to not pay too much attention to the here and now...
