I'm wondering if I should bother looking at who was insulting the "fucking bushies" for not being in this discussion and use these new revalations to show him the problem with believing on source of information and latching onto it so tightly. I don't care what he said exactly. He was strongly implying there was a large Soviet prescence in Austria. Read over what he said and how he worded it. Why would he even have said what he did if he wasn't trying to bring in some Cold War type hysteria (to tie in with terrorism hysteria).

I don't analyze speaches word for word like a godamn algebra problem.I was going by the essense of what he had to say,and what I said was equally relevant even with the minute,unimportant details in Pink's rebuttal.

I find it instructive that you consider what was actually said to be a "minute unimportant detail". Nothing like hearing what you want to hear, is there? Almost like seeing what you want to see (referencing your characterization of the Bush twins' choice of clothing at the RNC), isn't it?

Some people choose to make up their minds based on reality. Others choose to make up their minds based on their flawed interpretation of reality. This is nothing new, by the way. It's always been like that.

I read your whole post. Did you read his speech? There was absolutely nothing ambiguous or misleading in it. It didn't have to be parsed carefully for nuanced meaning or anything like that. The people who started this post put words in his mouth. Blatantly. He just plain didn't say or imply what these fuckwits say he did. They're the ones who tried to parse it anally. And they got it wrong and they know it. That's why they have all abandoned this thread. I only took you on cause you said you hadn't read it and didn't have to. He was a fuckwit no matter what.

I still stand by what I said. Arnold is an idiot and a liar. He was trying to make a parallel between non existent Soviet oppression in Austria and the current boogymen of terrorism. Even if he didn't intentionally lie,his speach was melodramatic and corny. That makes him an idiot (not mentioning his fabulous track record of being an established dimwhit).
