Powdered Rye Grain Berries Substrate

Ive grown before using the PF method using whole rice grain which I powdered and mixed with verm + water.

I have a bag of powdered rye grain berries, and im wondering how to make the substrate, can I use the same mix (verm+water) that PF tek uses, but use powdrered rye grain instead of powdered rice grain?

The sticker on the bag sais:
"Basic Rye Grain Recipe for 1 Quart Jar:
1.0 cup rye to 0,75 cup water"

That suggests to use the rye powder by itself? which way is better...

BTW: im assuming the same sterilization tek i used by cooking jars (not a PC) will still be ok...
