Turn casing into a huge cake?
    #3072915 -

My friend has a grow kit that has made 2 flushes and she is currently dunking it for 12 hours.

She noticed the whole thing is basically a huge block of mycellium with some verm on top...an uber-cake if you will.

Would she do okay with just putting the cake into a seran-wrap covered aquarium with a couple little holes poked in the top, and keeping the RH at 95% and above, while fanning 5 or more times a day?

Would it most likely grow out from all sides and possibly the top also this way?

It's basically a casing. It's maybe 4 inches thick (the mycellium part) with verm mixed in it a bit it looks like, and a thin layer of verm on the top. The whole thing is entirely white now except for the thin layer of verm embedded in the top that I can see.

You can see pics of it growing in the thread I made in the grow log forums.

You can cake it if you wish. It works... probably not as well as you imagine... but it works.

I had fun a couple of times parading around my house with a big stiff casing. I thought Hey this is just like a huge cake.
I treadted it just like one too. Just like Cervantes said, It probley wont work as well as you hoped. I think the damn thing just can't keep enough water. I had a huge cool looking first flush. But the second and third flush were not as good as the ones that were still in the pans. ??????? mystery
