WTF is going on w/this cake!!!!!!!!!

I dont think these are normal knots. I dont know what to do w/them. They just keep getting bigger and bigger.



Here is a cake w/these big knots near some regular pins.



And more monster knots....



All of my cakes have these giant knots growing on them. Has anyone else seen this before?

These are GT. They were done PF style. Dunked for 24 hours and fruited.

i would say just leave them till after the first flush is over with.

No, they are hyphal knots and they form on everything. Thats where the pins form. Leave them then they'll turn into shrooms. I'm pretty sure those are hyphal knots anyway. Taking a second look they look a lot bigger then ones on casings but maybe its cause theyre PF. Good Luck.

I'd agree leave them knots alone! :wink: Knots may or may not produce pins but at least one looks like it could produce a monster!!! :laugh:

Yeah I have had some of thoses lumpy things grow into huge monsters. I did'nt think a few of them were ever going to mature.

I had one that never made any pins only a great big golfball.So I ate it. FOUR........
