Are you casing yet? Even a straight verm casing can dramatically increase both size and quantity. But to answer your question, no. Wait for a big shroom to grow and clone it, this alone will give you bigger shrooms.

I have been reading more on that lately. So I should let one get as big as possible then make a print? I have 3 hawaiian cakes trying to grow.
Sorry for all the questions, newbie here

as always your help is appreciated

The size of the shrooms has a lot to do with the quantity of nutrients the fruit can suck from the network. If you have a nice thick/deep substrate, you'll get bigger shrooms.

You can crumble cakes into a bulk substrate, like dung/coir. Or even just crumble cakes and pack them in a tray 3-4" deep, then cover w/ 1/2-3/4" casing material (coir, jiffy mix or even straight vermiculite). Casings are usually a non-nutrative layer used to control the available moisture.

Do you have a pressure cooker? Whole grain is probably more nutrative than BRF/vermiculite cakes.

A spore print is not a clone. Go to the grow/find.

every once in awhile BRF will do it
seen 8-10" long 3-3.5" caps from cakes
they sure as hell ain't straight though, you get the most funky lookin shit off cakes
but subsequent flushes are affected from such a drain on nutrients/ water
much much easier to get the biggums from bulk
helps if it's been isolated

if you want
select the big ones (best looking)
from multispore innoc. cakes
use small pieces from base of stem, cap, or in stem under cap
to innoc agar, liquid innoc., substrate, etc...
agar is the best way, but it works well if you dont have the supplies to just make a slurry w/ water and clone
yuo can still do cakes if you want, they colonize much faster (average 6-11 days), give similar results
case em

but i don't like the big ones-good for pics
i like the pefect medium compact ones- more of a punch IMHO

just some thoughts-
keep on droolin ; )

I'm with ya on that Triple 3! The smaller ones do pack a nice punch. So, is cow crap the best casing to use or is it better to go with the oyster shells, jiffy mix etc.?

By all means case with the cow shit! That will dramaticaly increase the size! I have gotten a 5 inch PF w/ a 3 inch cap that was straight as an arrow and pretty as hell from a cake.
