just use an old PC tower's existing power supply to power it..you can easily splice in a timer if you wanted to...cut a circle hole in the sides of the terrarium...and just mount the square fan over the round whole : ) Remember, you'll want it to suck, not blow..

but doesnt the air being pushed into the terrarium from the humidifier cause the okd air to be pushed out through that co2 hole?

Yes, but by alternating the cycles of humidifying and evacuating you can manage that...it won't take long at all to reach peak humidity again...

thats what im saying, by having the humidifier on a timer, being on and off, wouldnt that push the old air out by itself and allow new air to enter, therefore not needed to fan manually? sorry if it sounds repetetive jsut wanna make sure and do it right the first time, i really appreciate it.

oh wait, I just realized what you were saying. Not efficiently would it force it out...keep in mind that CO2 is heavy, so it stands like a fog at the base of the terrarium, so the forced in air will push out a good portion, yes...but not nearly as good as a fan mounted low on the terrarium.

You are going to need to at least do *some* fanning, whether it's manual or by fan.

I read a while ago that someone used a vacuum to suck out co2 rather than fanning. Sounded like less contams to me.

If you mount a fan backwards, it is a vacuum..

You DO NOT need to fan out the terrarium if you have an ultra-sonic running. The humidifier will do a great job at air exchange. The pc fan idea i think would just be a waste of time and one more way to dirty your terrarium faster by pulling all of that dust into it. Besides, if you open it every day or so to check on them there will be air exchange happening then also, no need for any more
