well more or less what I do now is leave them out for a day with a fan on them and then move them into a container for a day with calcium chloride. Then fan air drying does most of the work. I know everyone here talks about ways to increase potency..... all I want to do is conserve potency and I know that I am going to lose a lot in drying I was wondering if anyone has done any research on different techniques for drying vs. mean potency of doses.

i've been wondering similar.
like just much potency is lost after/during drying.
i know, i know. it's been discussed before. but could someone who IS familiar with the search bar post a link?

I know we dried on the central heater, and didn't felt like loss of potency we dry cracker dry in a few day's!

I have the best drying method, using no heat at all. I put them in a tray behind the dehumidifier machine in my cold basement.
this way I can put "1" instead of ".6" as the multiplicator in the dosage calculator since i'm not using any head at all and it dries really quickly.

Vacuum drying is the way to go, quick, no heat, PLUS no oxygen. Since you probably don't have a vacuum chamber and pump lying around, a good air-tight tupperware bowl in the fridge with some Dry-Rite or Damp rid [same thing] in the bottom.

The best way to dry them is through air movement. Warm air.

I turn my oven on low, 100 - 150 degrees. Leave the door open. Place shrooms on sheet of paper on middle rack and place small fan on open oven door so it blows on shrooms. Combination of warm air and air movement will have them cracker dry in just a few hours! With the door open and the fan blowing, the shrooms are not being subjected to overly hot temps, the air movement does most of the work.

Seal in a canning jar with a small pack of dessicant if you have it.
