My little cacti garden.....(NEW PICS)
    #2963347 - 08/04/04 07:25 AM (19 years, 8 months ago)

It's winter here now, soon be spring though so my babies are in a nice sunny corner window that gets around 8-9 hours of sun per day.

There are Pachanois, bridgesii and montrose in here.

And here's the Four foot Trichocereus Scopulicolis i picked up last week.

Here's some Pachanoi and what i assume is Bridgesii.

The blue ones look like bridges to me. I've never seen hydroton balls used in what looks like a non hyrdro setup for cacti before. Are those pach's and perv's variegated or is it the new growth growing that colour?

It looks a little like they are trying to grow too much in the dormant season suggestion a little too much water - I could be/i'm often wrong.

i thought the bridgesii was the closest one with the pups...
(and the pups planted in the foreground)...
but the blue one of the left sure has some very bridgesii like needles...

I'm not sure what the bluish one is. The Bridgesii is the one with two pups and the small ones each side.

Actually, looking at that awesome thing you call a Trichocereus Scopulicolis and cross referencing it on google image search, I?m fairly certain my "pachanoi" is actually one of those.

Heres the pic of my so called pach (label from the plant store)

Looks like a Trichocereus scopulicolusa to me

Bump....new pics.

Faslimy: Are the Areoles on your cactus paralell to the long axis of the cactus or angled upwards?

faslimy, I think you are right. It doesn't have the notches by the spines like pedro. Hanky, are you sure that new one is bridgesii? It might be but it doesn't look right to me. Looks closer to a peruvianus but might be something else altogether.

hey hanky, very cool scop!
btw, your last 'bridgesii' looks more like a peruvianus OR (more remotely) a t. glaucus...

Nice collection! Are they all from cuttings? No pedros? You should start some pedro seeds and graft onto those perfect rootstocks. So those cacti are growing exclusivly in growrocks? How often do you water/fert?

Mostly angled directly outwards but at the top they slightly angle upwards.

My cacti are still indoors waiting for spring to really get going here but there in a well lit position now,you can see that they're much greener now compared to the first pic. The bridgesii in particular seemed to be loosing clorophyl quite quickly.
