a few pictures of my Cacti garden...
    #5879876 - 07/20/06 12:14 AM (17 years, 6 months ago)

Lairightt here's a few photos of my cacti garden as promised... just got a new digital camera... so am just getting used to it...

they're a bit bunched up in the corner... i planted them when i didn't know much about cacti... soo... they've been growing since December 2004. which is summer here in oz.
Apart from putting them so close togethor I know I've been doing something very fucking RIGHT to them cos they seem to love growing here.... they've grown close to 50cm in a year... and thats in the first year of putting them in the ground!!!!once again i think the secret is to spend time with them....and send them love  also apparently they eat alot during the night so its a good idea to spend night time with them aswell...

this is some cool peruvian variety... apparently... It got burnt by the sun abit further down..
One thing i learned when growing cacti... do not put them straight into the sun if they've been lying around inside or in the shade... they get burnt!

mr musshroome gnome

some cacti

and you might think this is cruel.. but i took this one out of the ground and never bothered to replant it... now its just like this... with its roots out... a few days ago i tried moving it... but couldn't because it managed to grow roots underneath...!! hardy
monster!!

fractal fern!!

passion fruit tree and fruit!

What type of climate are you in?I ask because they are all in the ground.I want to put mine in the ground but I fear the frost will kill them.

I had a large cereus peruvianus that I left out during winter and it couldnt handle it.

Although it doesnt get to cold here it still gets to about 0 degrees C and sometimes less. But every year its less cold and shorter winters.I think I should wait untill my cacti are allot larger and hardy before I put them in the ground. We usually get alot of rain during the winter months so I think this would be the main factor in the death of the cacti.

Beautiful garden man.I have never had a real fresh passionfruit. What kind of cactus is the #5 from the bottom up?Great job.

Those are some really nice looking cacti. I wish mine were that healthy. As things are right now my cacti are a little shocked from being moved around so much.

--------------------
The story goes, or the way that I was told
There was a king that always felt too high and then he fell too low
And so he called all the wise men to the hall
And begged them for a gift to end the rises and the falls
But here’s the thing, they came back with a ring
It was simple and was plainly unbefitting of a king
Engraved in black, it had no front or back
But there were words around the band that said
Just know: This Too Shall Pass
