Welcome back beef! And happy Halloween everyone! Hope you're all having a frightfully fantastic all hallows' eve.

All our black walnuts are dry and the final weigh in for the season is 47lbs. Not as good as last year, but not bad. My first grape wine went into bottles to carbonate today too. I've always been partial to non grape wines, the trashier the better. But my partner is very happy with how this one turned out so I'm happy.

I confess, I almost didn't take a clone of this fruit, but upon processing for a bioassay and watching it oxidize to almost black, I reconsidered. I also just realized I can cut a singular plate off of a wrapped stack while keeping everything sealed lol.

Yes, everyone in OTD gets subjected to that kind of treatment. That's precisely the problem. The fact that it's normalized doesn't make it acceptable, yet you guys use OTD's rules to justify it.

Nowhere did I suggest that I should be exempt from anything. I'm certainly not the only person who has experienced harassment in OTD or avoids posting there for fear of receiving that treatment. My point is that nobody deserves to be treated that way, regardless of what's been tolerated there.

Your response to rape isn't a universal measure of how others should respond to theirs. Your ability to withstand certain behavior doesn't invalidate someone else's experience or call their resilience into question.

For what it's worth, I'm sincerely sorry to hear that you're also a rape survivor.

Oh wow, I'd never heard of Nocino before. Sounds incredible. I love the smell of the hulls and it would be awesome to capture that in a drink. Unfortunately it seems like it's made from green walnuts before the inner shells harden. I'll have to keep that in mind for next year and go pick a handful early. Maybe by then I'll have figured out a still setup and make my own spirits to use too. It's something I've been curious about since I started brewing but have never had a real need for.
