It looks like half pint wide mouth jars but what do I know? LOL I’m about to do some wild birdseed and some of those. I ordered a few different grain bags and in my opinion I don’t like them. I’ll just stick with my birdseed.:awecid:

Hey what tek is this to get them to top fruit from the jar?
Cheers

I just covered them with a little coir verm as a casing. I recommend using coir at least, just verm isn’t the best for top fruiting IMO

Well, today a new cake is finally born, and over the next few days the rest will start hatching too. You can definitely feel the drop in temperature — next week I'm going to get an oil heater and a thermostat.

In the meantime, I'm sharing a picture from today (with a different camera, because my charger broke, and with one less light):

Bro over here working for the national archive. Meanwhile I’m trying to use a potato to take a picture of my sad mushrooms clear enough to read the “cake wars” sign. Haha

Before Harvest,  Yeti, 108g.

My old dehydrator trays fit into one of model of my tubs. I put plastic containerrs at the bottom to elevate it and here we are! Watertub time. While I had some of these cakes going on in an aluminum foil tray with plastic lid, I wasn't getting enough condensation on the cakes. Also, it caused condensation under the aluminum tray, so nah for now.

Those are 3 Yungella (probably yeti will fork out for dna) Cakes, and two Sibu ones. at the bottom and bottom left. No clue whats going on with that rabbit tail.

What Sibu is looking like elsewhere

I did a few PESH cakes, first time with these. Lost a couple, couple in a tub. They're pushing out mycelium like ochra- was wondering if they'd ever pin and voila, today's the day!

Huskies-

That dehydrator tray idea is great! Kept all my trays from my dehydrator that died, might set a couple up in a tub to try to water tub with it.

Damn, now that is a solid yield...

You've probably already mentioned it somewhere, but I missed the detail — what capacity do those containers have?

Nice cake — they almost form a "W".

oooh, W for Winner perhaps?

Those containers are 750ml, I get them at the Dollar Store here.

But I'm done with them, the lids get warped at the lip and I get too many contaminations on the outer edges of the cake. Since it takes a while to colonize, I can't have that. That cake was the only one that survived from that batch, despite the LC being fine.

Solo Cup 12 oz cakes have been better, if the lids warp, they catch onto the container itself.

I have had no contamination issues with these cakes, so they are my new norm.

Except I went to the store and bought more, they were square ones from another brand, slightly cheaper. Hopefully I didn't screw up.

@bluesreen: I grew out some PESH back in the day. They got huge, and spored like crazy.

I am updating. There is small growth on my ochra cakes. I am super behind but I'm still in the game and I've got that crisp feeling from getting a grow when I haven't in a long time. cheers

Who says you can't grow monster fruits with a cup cake.  I have never seen this big of a fruit in the first flush with AA+, but MS and here we are.

Pic from last night

And... this morning!

Check the size difference, the cap was almost 4" across, and just under six inches tall with a curved stipe.  She's a biggin' Fir sure, for this variety anyway.

And pics this morning, going crazy in the Mono fruiting chamber.  Two nights ago, I bumped up the misting to twice a day, or once in the morning, and another in the evening, drinking a bit more with progression.  All the best cupcake cultivators.

These 6 are x7x+, nocced from spore syringe 21 days ago. Center inoculation, they look ready to go but I'm waiting to see some knotting or even pinning to birth. I remember Faht saying it's better to let them advance in the jar than take more time in a FC drying out.

Even though it's not strictly necessary when inoculating in a SAB as I do, I have found that things go better with the dry verm layer. It's starting to scatter down as the cakes shrink, good sign to me.

These are x7x+ from LC (from a clone), they're 10 days old. I feel weird using LC in a Cake War, but it's permitted so there. I really am rooting for the MSS cakes to smoke these. We'll see. No dry verm layer for these, one I wanted the LC splash to make full contact, and 2, they are already "cheaters" :hypnotic:

Pic from lastnight, Acadian in vitro pins survived 24 hrs of dunk and are coming along nicely. Shakti cakes are pinning as well.

There's still like 5mm×20mm uncolonized spot on the bottom of this one, might just top fruit it instead of birthing it since the pins are growing off of the goddamn glass lol.
