Hell, it could very well be that mycogone after all, take a look at one of the bubble picture of my latest failed monotub here:

Good to know, still I think it's best to avoid it altogether rather than treat it somehow.

And here are some more pictures that show the evolution of one of such bubble area (about 5 days apart each):

What do you think?

All the transferred plates more or less exhibit one of the following pattern.

So I transferred portion of the above plates (and others) in several more, all of them using the trench technique. Patterns are more or less coherent with the donor plates, there are some notable cases though.

A seemingly halo pattern that gets more rhizomorphic as it goes through the trench. This one even got some bacterial contamination, possibly I was being clumsy when digging the trench.

A very fast growing mold (that I happened to see a couple of times before) that quickly jumped over the trench like nothing, yet it seems to have left the halo alone, see the middle ()-shaped part. Will toss this one.

A mixed plate (halo in the lower part) with some heavily rhizomorphic ropes that tries to climb the wall. The halo, if left free to grow takes the form you see here in the lower part.

Additionally I wanted to do a test, I left two plates empty and after I dismantled the SAB I removed the cap of one for a few seconds, then replaced, while the for other one I even smeared a gloved finger all over it, I had just finished the transfers so I touched a lot of dirty stuff, but I periodically rinsed my hand with isopropyl. Now, after a week, one is still perfectly clean, the other has just some minuscule seemingly bacterial drops. And I did that in my kitchen, with a lot of plants in there.

What I wanted to prove? Of course not that the hygiene protocol is useless, and my test is not statistically relevant at all, but I noticed excessive anality about that in this community, at the point that if someone is not doing the exact established current procedure (whatever it is...) then all the issues will for sure come from that. I apologize for this little rant. I understand the rationale behind this approach, but I feel that people often get a bit carried away with it, and instead of being taken seriously, a post gets dismissed too quickly as: not following my approach? well then, of course, thereโ€™s contams.

Anyway, this test was just for me, and it's nothing novel actually, but I wanted to share, I wanted to see the extend of the damage by being extremely clumsy, as to better understand the contamination in my plates.
