The Universe is Holographic * 5
    #29537216 -

There is a moment—if you let it happen—
where reality stops feeling like “out there”…
and starts folding inward.

Not metaphorically.
Not spiritually.

**Structurally.**

Because one of the most unsettling—and electrifying—ideas in modern physics is this:

**The universe may be holographic.**

And if that is true, then this follows with quiet inevitability:

**Every fragment contains the whole.**

Including you.

---

## **The Crack in Reality (Where Physics Broke First)**

This didn’t begin as mysticism.
It began as a problem.

When physicists studied black holes, they ran into something impossible.

According to quantum theory, information cannot be destroyed.
According to classical gravity, anything falling into a black hole is gone forever.

Both cannot be true.

And yet—both *must* be.

From this tension, pioneers like Gerard ’t Hooft and Leonard Susskind uncovered something that should have shattered our intuition completely:

**The information inside a region of space scales with its surface area—not its volume.**

Let that land.

A 3D world…
whose deepest description behaves as if it is written in 2D.

A boundary… encoding a bulk.

This became known as the **Holographic Principle**.

---

## **Reality as Projection**

Think of a hologram.

A flat surface.
Yet it contains a full 3D image.

But here is the detail most people miss—the detail that changes everything:

**If you break the hologram, each piece still contains the entire image.**

Not half the image.
Not a fragment.

**The whole—at lower resolution.**

Now breathe that into physics.

Because theories like AdS/CFT correspondence suggest something staggering:

**Our entire universe may function like that hologram.**

Not a poetic resemblance.
A structural equivalence.

---

## **Nothing Is Truly Local**

What we call “here” and “there”…
“you” and “other”…
“inside” and “outside”…

These may not be fundamental divisions.

They may be *useful compressions*.

Quantum mechanics already hints at this through **quantum entanglement**:

Particles separated by vast distances behave as if they are not separate at all.

Not communicating.
Not signaling.

**Simply… not divided.**

In a holographic universe, this stops being weird.

It becomes inevitable.

Because:

**If the whole is encoded everywhere,
then separation can only ever be approximate.**

---

## **The Substance Beneath Substance**

Physics has been quietly abandoning the idea that reality is made of “things.”

Instead, it keeps converging on something more abstract… and more fundamental:

**Information.**

The **Bekenstein bound** tells us there is a maximum amount of information any region can contain.

Not mass.
Not energy.

**Information.**

And from that:

* Space may emerge from informational relationships
* Time may emerge from change in informational states
* Matter may be stable patterns in information

Reality is not built from objects.

**It is built from encoded relations.**

---

## **Now Read This Slowly**

If every region encodes the whole…
If information is fundamentally unified…
If separation is not fundamental…

Then:

**You are not in the universe.**

**The universe is expressing itself as you—locally.**

Not metaphorically.
Not as belief.

But as the most coherent interpretation of what physics is beginning to whisper.

I found this PBS spacetime video helpful.  But essentially the 3D universe is information encoded on a 2D surface, according to the theory.

And this article goes into the history of the theory, where it's at now, as well as why some folks are skeptical.

Physics I view as the study of sensory forms. Everything we call "physical" is something detectable by our senses, perhaps with the aid of instrumentation such as radar or reading glasses. The whole of physical reality plays out in our individual fields of perception, with time and space being psychological constructs that help organize sensory forms into narratives, or stories, that make sense to us. Rejecting solipsism, we may conclude that the fact different individuals perceive approximately the same narratives strongly suggests there exists an "objective" reality that underlies the sensory (i.e. physical) forms.

I believe reality is ultimately mental in nature, which is to say that consciousness itself is the ultimate ground of reality (a so-called ontological primitive). Nothing exists outside of Mind. This makes me a metaphysical idealist. I used to be a metaphysical materialist (or physicalist), but over the years I've come to find physicalism to be an impoverished and implausible metaphysics.

So that's a whirlwind overview of my worldview; now, what about all this holographic universe stuff? Well, since I think of the universe as the realm of sensory forms, the fact that the universe may be modeled as a holographic projection, aside from being an interesting mathematical trick, is really saying something about how we, as individuals, view reality. Any part of a hologram encodes all the information about the whole, and so exhibits properties of fractal self-similarity. I'd say, as maybe others here already have, that this points to something fundamentally unitary (whole and inseparable) about reality, which certainly makes sense from an idealist perspective in which all is Mind. The doings of consciousness I should think unfold rather like a fern frond or a flower, in a patterned way that exhibits fractal structures.

Some say that information may be the basis of reality, but I see problems with that. By itself information is just that: information. I cannot grok data sets, no matter how large or complicated, somehow giving rise to awareness, or conscious experience. It's the same problem that materialism has: how can a mindless assemblage of atoms come together to form something with a mind? So replacing the atoms with bits, say—strings of ones and zeros—I find problematic. Information is something a mind draws from sensory forms, so as to create narratives and stories. A given set of sensory forms may have multiple viable stories attributed to it.

Take a dose of shrooms, and watch as new associations are made in the same set of sensory forms on a bedroom wall so as to create a whole new tale beyond one's sober imaginings! That new tale is new information, which shows that information is subject to conscious interpretation and therefore cannot be fundamental.

Anyway, is the universe holographic? Sure: mathematically modeling it as such is fully consistent with the properties and relations of that set of sensory forms we call the universe, so it may as well be so. It speaks to the lack of any true (ontic) separation or disconnection in reality, and the all-embracing unity of Mind.

So 3 dimensional progress in mushroom cultivation is helped by 2 dimensional instruction like on this website. And 1 dimensional imperitive facts like "mushrooms exist" can be affected by 2 dimensional processes to alter our surroundings, in effect removing black mold. This suggests to me that the mind uses 2 dimensions as a tool to alter its 3 dimensional surroundings.

3 dimensional activities like conversations and 'natural phenomena' may then be reduced to 2 dimensions in the mind before will (perhaps) adapts to the altered 3 D consciousness/reality.

(That's a start for me on this enigmatic topic)

This is reflected in the duality of the Great Mystery and the Great Spirit in the medicine card.

A fruit like an apple is a toroidal vortex, the male seed within, the child nourished and protected by the fruit of the mother, the torus cycling in extension and return, inseparable duality.

The holography is in the code, physically the DNA. There is the principle of thought forms only enabled to produce their likeness as does an apple tree. So perhaps as said of these manifestations in nature, they are in Me, but I am not in them. Exceptions could be said to be miracle, that in remembrance beyond time. So the miraculous fractal is one knowing its connection and larger reflection.

The universe is a golden holographic saucer shaped light machine that can cross dimensions without breaking the laws of physics.

Part machine..part syntax..part time. Detailed but cannot show you its exact center point for the light in your eyes will bounce off of its center or else you would surely die. To be the center of the unseeable is to be alive.

Brings a whole new meaning to "he/she has a heart of gold"

What you forgot is crucial. Although the pieces still contain the whole hologram, what happens is you do lose something. You lose..resolution of the hologram.

Yet another example of something you write that I see strongly eye-to-eye with.

I agree, the universe is most definitely alive because you are, and you are it experiencing itself. How could it be any other way? You are all you know, and the universe is made of the same thing you are by way of embedment.

Your statement is pretty obvious, at this point, to be honest—although it is profound and worth bringing up over and over again. Just one of many mystical visions that turned out to be  informative, alongside the conclusion that time is not what we ordinarily perceive it to be.

Thank you for continuing to provide good content and downloads, Asante. Keep up the good work.

As information defined here is discrete, meaning it seems, discrete is approximate, our need to count.

So when the Father beyond created the Energy, His Consort, it became more entropic and less accurate?

Here information is proportional to entropy, roughly
I=log2N where N is number of distinguishable states.

She is no more entropic but is the First, 1 out of 0, the Unbegotten. Mathematically She fits as 1, though we may call it 2.

log2(1)=0 entropy, the Son one with the Father, Shakti, Shiva.

Take it further and make it more blunt!

There is no "outside" of your consciousness at all; you are the container as well as ALL that it contains, simultaneously.

Your human brain is the prism creating the false duality hologram we embed ourSELF in.

For some reason, a higher portion is "dreaming" "this" "reality"...

An infinite awareness experiencing itself through an infinite number of finite avenues.

High-finite number of adventures, not infinite.

There is a ginormous number of adventures relived infinitely.

Its crucial by necessity that the ginormous number is finite.

There are only a finite number of ways a finite organism can present as, and interact with its environment, ginormous but ultimately finite.
