Identification Request * 1
    #29674089 -

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc. I  found it growing in my backyard growing out of garden soil.

Gills:
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc. white gills I don't see any spores.

Stem:
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc. the stem is solid

Cap:
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc. the cap is white

Spore print color:
Very important! N/A

Bruising:
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any. Blue.

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and

gills.

you can tell that where there is blue, damage has happen like on the gills.
blue stropharias start blue and get bleached as they age and wont turn blue when damaged.

looks like avery's albino(cub) strain?
did you ever throw some spent or contam substrate in your garden?
this would bee the first time i see some mutant strain surviving outdoors .

Looks to be a Psilocybe of some sort that was cultivated and ended up growing in the garden soil, I would assume from possibly discarding an old grow or something? Maybe some "strand" of Cubensis.

It doesn't actually scream cubensis. But yeah, a possibility I guess.

Cool find in any case. :mushroom2:

Very Cool Mushroom! Must be an escapee if found in the US

Just checking if you have considered Tricholoma, there's at least one species with a bluing reaction.
Any trees nearby this find?

This appears to be another on growing around the same area.
Would they be safe to eat?

I have a spot where I discarded some contaminated substrate but it's pretty far from where I'm finding these, 10+ ft

Are they growing in manure?

It is overwhelmingly not a Tricholoma, and it is far more likely to be an albino or leucistic strain of Psilocybe cubensis.

Near the top third of the stem, there is a distinct annular zone (flared band), the vast majority of Tricholoma have bare stem with no annulus. Some white Tricholoma species stain yellow, brown, or pinkish-red when damaged, but never vibrant blue as seen here. Gill attachment is wrong also.

If not escaped cultivar, maybe some unusual naturally occurring Psilocybe.

No just in soil, maybe some animal could have left droppings at some point but nothing recently as far as I can tell.

Do you have any more photos of the last one you posted? Possibly a photo of it picked?

I didn't pick it yesterday because it's so small I'm thinking it might grow a little more but I can later today if it will help with ID

Pick it. It would help to study the nature of blue discolaration, damage it intentionally, making X, cuting it, or whatever.
What I think I see in your earlier posts are deep, rapid enzymatic bruising concentrated directly along mechanical stress/damage lines (where the stipe split open and was squeezed during harvest). Also on the gills. This is typical psilocin oxidation.

Say for fuck sake this is Tricholoma subresplendens or mutant Stropharia. The blueing should not be a rapid bruising response to mechanical handling. Instead, it typically manifests as subtle, erratic blue-green spots or patches across the surface of the cap and stipe base (and as Michael Kuo notes on MushroomExpert for blue Tricholoma, the blue spots don't always appear and are often subtle).

100% Albino Psilocybe cubensis from a discarded grow.  If you want  proper ID with the other you need to pick it and post detailed photos from all angles.
