Uncolonized Streaks of Grain

I've noticed a concerning pattern of growth in my spawn jars(Jack Frost, isolate). Patriculary, a tiger/zebra like streak of uncolonized grain(pictures below), which takes a substantial longer amount to colonize, although it eventually does; to the point where the whole of the grain will be colonized except that patch. Usually their is only one or two stubborn streaks. The last jar with this pattern that I ran ended up being a dud. Sign of bacterial contamination or just a odd trait?


These pics were taken a few days ago, by now they may have colonized, will update later.

Pasty pointed this out on a post the other day, the wetness at the bottom of this grain is opaque which is an indication of a bacterial biofilm. This is zoomed in from your second pic.
