Lions mane mycelium * 1

Ok so I wanna grow lions mane on rice, not uncle bens bs I mean using brown rice as substrate so I can fruit one or two mushrooms and then eat the block(mycelium has different alkaloids then fruit)

Is the doable or not?

I've searched for rice teks and uncle bens always pops up.



Also I have a free pan cyan spore syringe but not enough posts for the classifieds so message me if you want it.

We find lion's mane growing on trees. They are a 'wood lover' and thrive on a hardwood substrate; pellets, chips, sawdust, etc. I don't think they would do well on rice.

Eat the mushroom not the block. You are joking, right? Anyway, good luck. :smile:

It can be done. However the yields won't be great. A couple surface clusters is what you get growing lionsmane on grain alone.

Hopefully you'll have no contams in the substrate if you're going to eat it.

Do it! Basically tempeh but with lions mane not rhizopus. I have my doubts that it will be tasty but only one way to find out. I would love to try this with morels or blewits or other hard to fruit species. Make sure it's clean as mentioned, but worth getting sick.
