Beer on boomers?
    #29652825 -

Years ago as a teen the typical routine when I’d come across shrooms through friends was more a party scene, you know if there were shrooms going around so was the beer. All these years later I’m much more sacred with the fungi and intentional and don’t drink all that often anyway. Lately I’ve been feeling like dabbling in some beer but still have not had any alcohol with shrooms since I was a teen. My question now is, after the peak goes by and you reach that state where your still tripping with a couple hours ahead but the strongest part has passed, to crack a beer or two would it be a dumb idea or is it pleasant? I’m just not quite sure if it’s worth it or if it just throws the experience out of wack.

Before government, before currency, before countries and religion, there was the earth as it naturally existed, unaltered by humanity and without strict policy to follow, to fit in with societies expectations. This is a true life the way the cosmos intended it, humanities intervention holds no power in the natural intelligence. Mushrooms offer a connection to those natural origins.

I like a little alochohol at then end of a strong trip if the effects are mostly over but there's a lot of stimulation left

A beer or 2 can be perfect sometimes, in the latter portion of the mushroom trip. Can ease the transition back to normal consensus body based reality. Can also stimulate some appetite, get the intestines working and a little burping and farting is good too for that transition back to the body

While I used to have a beer or two late in fungi journeys, I have quit alcohol now and don’t miss it at all. Its negative effects on the gut biome counteract psilocybin’s positive effects on the biome, which seems silly.

I absolutely love hops though and appreciate a good NA beer still. Sober Carpenter, Athletic and Bitburger are my favorites. Hops are relaxing and a nice addition to the afterglow.

I struggle to sleep after a hit. I usually start drinking once I am functioning again. I will drink until I am sleepy. This may be 12 hours or so. Gives a nice secondary buzz.

I've got nothing against alcohol on the shroom comedown BUT beer specifically is a total crapshoot on psychedelics IMHO. Depending on brand, mood and substance it can taste and feel absolutely HORRENDOUS and carbonation can be extremely controversial for a tripping brain.

Now a sweet & girly Rosé? That's the stuff. Maybe Madeira style wine.

Try a cup of Lemon Balm tea (3 to 4.5 grams of dried leaf). It inhibits GABA Transaminase which can increase GABA levels and may have some other GABA-increasing effects as well, it works perfectly for calming/relieving anxiety/reducing bodyload/reducing intensity, it smooths things out nicely, i've used it in combination with Ayahuasca/oral DMT, as well as mushrooms, 4-ACO-DMT, and Psilohuasca, and it does the same thing pretty much for all of it, and it especially helps out with the hardcore intensity of Ayahuasca/DMT, it smoothing things out with mushrooms ain't no big deal in comparison lol.

Lemon Balm works very nicely, it's relatively mild on it's own but in combination with Psychedelics it's seemingly strong acting. It's a better alternative to Alcohol imo, not that i have anything against a beer or so, but Lemon Balm is a nice natural alternative and i've consumed it for itself and in combination with Psychedelics for years, there's no withdrawal effect, no hangover, no negative effects ime and it's definitely GABAergic. Only thing about Lemon Balm is it maybe shouldn't be consumed by those with hypothyroidism apparently but other than that it works nicely and is overall safe to consume/work with, it's a great admixture plant in combination with Psychedelics. Also you can either consume it at the same time as the Psychedelic, or 30 minutes into the Psychedelic, a few hours into the Psychedelic, i usually consumed mine together with the Psychedelic and it kicks in within like 15 to 30 minutes and really smooths out the come up, makes it gentler.

As far as Alcohol goes though in general, i like tequila, i don't mind beer, or whiskey, or vodka, or whatever, but of all the alcohols i've tried, i like tequila, though i haven't tried it while tripping but i have tried it in combination with Harmalas/Syrian Rue and it was rather nice. I'm not much of a drinker though, i use Cannabinoids/Cannabis.

something else, its possible to  drink a ton on psychedelics and not feel it, so you can way over do it and not know it
