Howdy fid! I got a good deal on a 16qt Presto.



I already constructed a deformed SAB when I knocked up two, 2lbs AIO "magic bags" last week. Yeah, I know, I know but I was itching to get back lol Gonna follow Pastywhyte's Easy Agar Tek.


Bang for the buck, I have the same cooker, she's a workhorse that keeps on giving. 

I used an old metal coffee can for my SAB holes, worked perfect. 

"Welcome... too... the MUSHINE!"

Oh for sure LOL It was late and my original plan to use a hot coffee can fell through when I realized my induction stove wasn't gonna work. And I didn't have a hole saw so a utility knife was gonna do it.

Thanks Mush and yeah it's pretty solid. I had the 23qt version before but the 16qt one should be fine too. My induction stove wouldn't heat up my coffee can. I used a hole saw last time I made a SAB.

Hello, friends. I am producer of gourmet mushrooms at the small business scale, and currently have been attending my first small, local farmer's market this year, with plans to sell wholesale to local markets in the off season.

I have been foraging for wild edible mushrooms throughout northern New England for nearly a decade, and began my cultivation journey in 2024. Since throwing myself headlong into the art of cultivation, I have found incredible personal growth and enrichment via the science of microbiology, and at current, have plans to expand to a private farm.

I believe, wholeheartedly, that mushrooms can, actually, save the world. I intend to see it happen. Until then, though, I commit myself to providing tasty, healthy, organically grown mushrooms to at home chefs and restaurateurs alike.

Hi guys!
Well it took a minute for me to come around to joining, I don't know why I didn't register when I started growing. I picked up cultivation back in May when a friend gave me an old GT spore syringe. From there, I dove straight in with heavy research, a lot of information originating from here actually. I remember about 21 years ago when I was a teen this site was a good resource and seems to have retained the status of THE source for mushroom cultivation. I watched a lot of youtube content and unfortunately theres a good amount of trash - which led me back here! Another great source for garbage information and ignorant people can be found on various facebook fungus groups if one desires aggrevation.

So I've been building a decent little collection of LC jars and a handful of projects going in different phases. I've yet to have my first harvest, but I'm really close as we speak! Anyways, I'm glad to be "back" and look forward to sharing with the community!
