Project ENIGMA update😊🍄🩷 * 3
    #29642278 -

Hey guys just excited to share the surprisingly quick progress this Enigma is showing. Wasn't expecting this quick of colonization speed from what I read before starting this project. Thinking I got lucky with a good culture🙏🏽🤟🏽 I made the tub on the 25th of July so almost two weeks and already getting some decent surface coverage. Also just wanna say again how much I LOVE the EZ dial tub. Truly set and forget. Perfect for LITFA Tek😂😅
Anyways here's the pic I got this morning when checking on it. Myc looks super healthy too🍄🩷

I'm also trying my hand at Enigma...pics attached. Have this and one other, both are about the same. There's not too much info out there on this strain. I put these in the tub on July 4. From what I read, they're very slow growers. I just started using polyfil, have been used disc filters to cover the tub holes for years and I'm finding the filters maintain proper moisture better. In fact, I'm about to replace the polyfil with filters, just sterilized them, the pressure cooker is cooling down now.

Anyway, the myc in my tubs colonized quickly and became really thick, and then dried out to the point of turning blue, I've been adding water between the plastic liner and sub, and the overflow has really made my myc look like shit now, but there's no contamination so I'm letting them grow. As you can see in the pics, the only fruits I'm getting are around the exterior, so I know my moisture is way off...and my myc is all discolored and ugly b/c I spray them daily. Lol. Anyway, keep posting pics of your progress and if you'd like, I'll do the same

I have a few more jars that are colonizing now so hopefully the next batch will be better!

Oh awesome man I'll definitely stay tuned on your posts and continue to update mine as well so we can learn from each others work🤟🏽
And same I've been doing research on this strain since last year and hadn't found much. But what I did find was suggestions from other people who grew it saying it prefers to be "choked" a lil. So less FAE to keep the moisture in. I also seen someone suggesting Pastys' EZ dial tub, as being specifically good for this one. So my plan is to just ignore my instincts to open it up as often as I do my other tubs usually lol But honestly I'm SUPER hyped for this grow. It's a strain I've wanted to try for almost a decade, and hopefully I'll finally have that opportunity. Even better that they're grown myself🍄🩷

Well, decided to harvest what little I had last Sunday. 117/11 wet/dry weight. Certainly not anything to brag about, but not a total waste, either. Very brittle, like thin cut cauliflower...they crumble with the slightest touch. Interesting strain, to say the least.

Also, I removed the polyfil and replaced with disc filters... holding moisture a lot better and now seeing some growth across the tubs, opposed to just the sides. I can't wait to try them! Pics attached. I'm thinking next time, I may try the bag approach vs tubs. I used to grow enoki, without any climate control, inside of bags and that was the only way I could get them to produce fruits.

I have about 600ml of beautiful Enigma LCs right now...I cannot wait to try this strain. I saw someone get 1200g fruits with Enigma. I'm doing Enigma, Vader, Oak Ridge and Amazonian on the next boomr bins.

You pressure cook your filters? How does the adhesive stay good?? I've never heard of this. Seems wholly unneccessary when you could just spritz them with a little alchol when sanitizing the tubs.

Reduce FAE, then Leave It The Fuck Alone. If you're opening your bins at all prior to first harvest, it better be to fix something like it being too wet. Otherwise you're just screwing up the microclimate and making it start over.

Choke Enigma, it grows fine in bins and in bags. And yes it's not hard to pull several hundred gram blobs out of even modest grows, if you're patient.

Yes, I sterilize the filters. I started doing that years ago when I had problems with trich. Yes, it does seem like an overkill but it ain't broke, so I ain't fixing it. I use door/trim caulk to adhere them to the tub, and peel it off after each grow. Cheap caulk works the best b/c it's cheap and not made to last.

Alcohol doesn't kill spores, only living organisms. Bleach doesn't kill spores either. The only way to kill them is time, measured in years, and high temp steam, measured in minutes.

Much of the grow process seems to be an overkill. I've been growing for several years now. I don't claim to be the best, but I get by without contamination so I'll stick to what works for me.

I'm a patient man and rarely open the tubs unless needed for one reason or another. Appreciate the tip on choking them out, but I was also drying them out using polyfil...no bueno. The filters fixed that and inside of 1 week, they've already outgrown the first flush (if you wanna call it that).
