I don’t feel deprived, I feel relieved.

I lost a farmer’s carry of two fullsized kettlebells of empty calories :smile2:

Here’s to doubling that :cheers:

in the past 2 months alone I lost 10kg/22lbs.

My blood sugar is normalized (sensible eating, metformin, insulin)

I shed a bunch of medications now excessive.

I got rid of dissociatives, period.

Its insane, I eat oatmeal, test my glucose at the peak and it’s 7.5-8 mmol/l like a nondiabetic person.

Here, it’s just 6.2 mmol/l right now :smile2:

Insulin down from 40 to 10 longacting units once daily, almost ornamental.

I must confess I bought a 5kg/11lbs big tub for myself to celebrate..
But its a big tub of creatine monohydrate to go with the exercise, not ice cream, big sale at the bulk sports powders supplier, this WILL get eaten within 2 years at about 1/4oz per day - big guy.

I actually lost 12kg in 2 months but I’m loading up on creatine again with exercise and drink plenty of water, no edema, no high blood sugar, to cleanse my insides with all the changes going on in my body. So, 10kg it is :smile:

My acute oxycodone withdrawal (my initiative, skru opioids) is mostly behind me it seems, loperamide stopped too.

Insulin resistance down, ability to tolerate caffeine is up - avid coffee drinking in the hospital was a shocker coming home: indeed, instant coffee is no acceptable substitute for the real thing, I popped open a vacuum sealed can well within expiration date and drinking it was plainly repulsive :rotfl:

My diabetic feet are looking less and less like those of a river corpse, the healing progresses, and if i clip my pulse oximeter on my worst toe i get a good hard heartbeat and 98% oxygen saturation meaning that circulation is good.

All good things, no?

I’ve been venting and oozing a lot of bad news about bad stuff in my life over the years, some good news was in order, I feel. It aint all bad.

I took a nosedive recently in some ways but all in all, a lot of good happens also.

Ones focal point matters too. Gotta focus on where you want to be in life because that’s where you’ll grow towards.

What you focus on gets bigger.

Hopefully the feet heal soon, I think that's more important then the weight, I've come to see weight as unimportant, what matters is health, weight loss will just be a side effect of good health




My doctor said my a1c was "normal" last blood test, i thibk in april, I didn't ask what it was, I will ask what my last one was on my next blood test in September so I can compare them

But my doctor also refuses to test my insulin, she says they only test it for diabetics and my à1c was normal

I'm not good at articulating in the moment especially against "authority" so I couldn't explain that my curiosity in insulin was, that yes my blood sugar could be normal non-diabteic, but my insulin could be sky high trying to keep homeostasis and the damn could collapse any day now

Anyways I was eating so much junk food in the past that my insulin HAD to have been sky high, I mean cookies, chocolate, ice cream, cake, pizza pops, TV dinners, I ate it all and often

I am eating the diet they say will kill you now for the last 90 days, I eat eggs for breakfast and Steak for dinner everyday, at least the sardines I eat for lunch they say are good lol, but I also eat a lot of tallow and ghee, I try to eat 2:1 fat to protein + carbs to keep ketones sky high

I was at my heaviest the start of April at 300, now I'm down to 267, I think I look the same but my belt is tighter

I am going to try and save up $1000 to fly to Alberta where I can pay for a private CCTA to scan my artery, then I can do it again in three years, and see if my artery got worse or not, if my diet is actually bad, or if its perhaps neutral.or good

Medical tourism lol I don't even have leave the country just fly into the conservative strong hold

But my insulin works pretty good now, my town had a festival.and I got a dessert, I walked my dog to the festival and walked back, then I ate the dessert, my sugar went from 4.5 to 8.5, a big jump but keto causes insulin resistance in the muscles so they won't uptake the glucose, but it came back down to 5 or 6 in a couple.hours, but its not the blood sugar I really cared about after the fact,  the dessert caused me to have paranoid thoughts, and feel some derealization, I'm kinda afraid of sugar since then lol

For you, in my estimation, weight isnt the be-all-end-all, but when you are 200lbs overweight like i was, yes, it IS the be-all-end-all.

Having lost >100lbs oh yes i feel better in so many ways, and 16 inches off your waist, yeah you notice the advantages of that.

I was completeky cripplingly obese. Life threateningly so. I was 425lbs at my worst. I needed to buy items, scales, stools and chairs, a goods transport bicycle, designed for 500lbs. Not just rare but expensive. Now i;m at 315lbs, normal sumo size. I dropped 5 buckets of excess lard. Its unbelievable. My body weight is down to Y2K level.

My spirit guide paints the picture of how i’ll dip under 100kg/220lbs if I stick with the program and build up my exercise. Its not over the horizon anymore. 5 more buckets and I have arrived. Not so wild if you dropped 5 already in relative ease. I wanna swim! When of proper weight and fitness, I want to join a not too joint intensive martial art, catch a whiff of Dojo Discipline of body and mind. I got plans for the coming decades, I want my 84yo dad to see it before he passes over. I got plans.

Gopher, skru your doctor! I had diabetes since at least the 1990s and it only got diagnosed after my best friend of my life died during lockdown while I burst out in infected wounds during lockdown and I, driven by misery went on a multi month icecream binge that worsened the diabetes enough for it to become evident.

You love gimmicks, for less than 20 bucks you can get a little blood glucose test kit, holding tiny needles, a finger pricker you cock and shoot in your fingertip so you can squeeze out 1 drop of blood, then stick a test strip in a glucose meter, you poke the drop on your finger and in 5 seconds you have your exact blood glucose value, which stores with the time in the memory of the lil handheld so you can look back how your graph is. Certain values are so blatant that if you get those, you MUST have a diabetes related illness and thats not something your doctor with his sober hemoglobin test can sweep under the rug. You sense something might be wrong - maybe some food choices, and you sometimes have unusual ones, might drive you right into a hyper (or hypo) and you *must* test this so you can omit the offending food/nutrient combination - because too high glucose is damaging and if its tempiorary it wont show in his test but will show in your home monitoring. Don’t wait for it to worsen so you get the really bad symptoms, like me. Trust your instincts. Since you experiment with foods a lot, its n awesome diagnostic tool to have and inexpensive at that. Also buy a pulse oximeter, 5-20 bucks on amazon, not for diabetes but to get heartratem oxygen saturation and if you buy the right one, a live visual of the beats which shows how hard, how regular your heartbeat is in that finger or toe and whether you skip beats, brief flatlines amidst the rhythm, great with drug experiments and exercise. You can catch a lot early with that, including low oxygen saturation from anemia or methemoglobin and rhythm irregularities from flaws in foods or drug/medicine use.

DIY diagnostics, You prolly already do given your dessert readings but if not, do so.

I got a ketomojo (blood and ketones)

And I got a blood pressure cuff, but I think I bought a cheap one that shows my blood pressure higher then it is, cause the two times I used different cuffs, once at a pharmacy and once at my doctors my blood pressure was normal (135/85) but when i test with my cuff it says 140/95


I didn't know those finger things test more then oxygen, I will maybe get one, I'm interested in heart beats more then oxygen


This is the lowest glucose ketone index I ever recorded, its not my lowest glucose, but its my highest ketones, it was after walking with 25 pounds worth of items, from my house to my friends house, a hair more then 3km, while walking my dog so fighting a leash, I think the stress of carrying the bags and leash spiked my ketones on the walk

Also I buy instant coffee, I think it taste fine, beans are better but I drink coffee for 2-3 days in a row usually and then not drink it for weeks sometimes, so I have to buy single serving sachets, jars of instant or cans of grounds go stale and bad on me



And I didn't mean to down play 400 pounds, but I just meant like for instance in the keto world, it seems like 90% of people will start it solely to lose weight, when really it shines with the elimination of ultra processed junkfood so real healing can happen eating whole foods, so I kinda meant like reversing the metabolic dysfunction is what's important and with that dropping weight should happen naturally barring any weird medical issues

I just took my blood for fun, ketones 1.2 and glucose 5.9, I'm about 1 hour post prandial, I ate 175g beef, a couple.spoons of tallow I didnt weigh it today just to fry the beef, but I also used some HP sauce, actually the one made in the Netherlands not the one made in canada

I drink tea made from eastern white pine, its loaded with vitamin c, I usually have one a week, I like it in the winter cause its the only thing I can forage in the snow

Yes I just put a chamomile tea bag and a hand full of needles in a mug and pour boiling water on top, Im not sure how effective that method is for vitamin c, but it taste like.christmas

My Illy Classico Instant 100% Arabica is the same price for 95gr on amazon, cheaper in italy.

As climate change is progressing, coffee areas become uninhabitable to coffee, making the price go higher abd higher.

I checked my awesome supplements/keto supplier and you can get a kilo of pure vitamin C for less money (kilo of caffeine costs like 22CAN, cut out the middle man lol!)

Yeah it is expensive but two things, black coffee in sachets is harder to find, they usually have milk solids and sugar, and I'm willing to pay the higher price to avoid nestle which is the only black coffee sachets my grocery store has

But amazon is always expensive here, your prime member ship is not really paying for the 24 hour next day shipping, the price is baked into the goods, they make money even when you order a single item every day to your door step, that's the real sustainability crisis, the fact I order so many items randomly through the month I stead of just putting them in my cart and making one big order so it only has to ship once lol I wonder how much gas I've burnt using amazon


If I went through coffee at a faster rate I would just buy something like this






But the expensive amazon coffee does tatse pretty good too, it taste better then some of the cheaper brands like noname or giant value for sure(loblaws and giant tiger house brands), probably even better then maxwell and neacafe
