Yeah Aussies are good at taking the shit out of ourselves. Provided others are doing it in a jovial way it's pretty well taken. Interestingly went to a few comedy shows recently and yeah lots of Aussie/NZ comedians taking the piss out of Americans (however they were also engaging with the Americans in the audience so it didn't feel attacking).

I met two awesome Californians on my cruise. They were so cool, married at 21 came on cruise at 23. Very laid back and I think they could befriend anyone. They were stuck with a bunch of drunk Aussies in the spa and seemed to enjoy our humour. I enjoyed there's which was much more laid back less intense lol

Interestingly apparently my friend went on a Canadian/US based cruise (she is Aussie) and she said that there was very little socialising between strangers (she herself is super friendly and outgoing and can make friends with anyone). I was surprised to hear that. I've only ever met outgoing Americans so I assumed that was the norm. Idk so much about Canada but I thought they would be similar maybe a little more reserved than Americans?

Just had a call with a recruiter for a job that would have been so cool if only I was able to actually work full time and didn't have such bad mental health.

She was so intense over the phone I cried and had to calm down, interrupt her and tell her I wasn't interested (she didn't notice I cried). She did seem well intentioned but yeah that's how bad my social anxiety is... No wonder I can't do nursing.
