Extracting makes it more liable to oxidation from light, water, enzymes, oxygen, etc. High proof alcohol still contains water which will lead to oxidation of the active tryptamines.

Fungi cells are great storage containers, no need to extract ahead of time and risk unnecessary degradation; just make a tea when you’re ready to consume.

No one will look twice at a container of benefiber or psyllium husk, that has been emptied out and replaced with mushroom powder.

Or one could make a very strong tea, and freeze it. This would definitely cut down on physical space/could be made very concentrated. In the freezer itself, it just looks like soup.

You might be interested in what ReverendMyc does, where he dehydrates tea to make a powdered concentrate. It's a long post and he goes into it more, but here's the gist:

Active Instant Tea
Active Instant Tea is just traditional active tea that has been dehydrated to remove all of the water. This makes it easy to store in a very potent form, easy to test for a precise indication of potency and easy to work with in recipes.
How it is made.

    Place shallow condiment cups on dehydrator trays.
    Fill condiment cups with active tea.
    Run dehydrator on high for 24 to 48 hours
    Scrape dried tea into a mixing bowl.
    Preserve dried tea in vacuum sealed canning jar if not used immediately.

why are you wondering about capsules?

you can take dried shroom powder and compact it inside hermetic jars like anubis tek describe, or do capsules, and will occupy way less space and be discrete.

with the first method is easier to do tea, so is the one i would recommend.

there's some evidence that powder can even be better in storage:

compared to other samples using whole shrooms, this sample have way less alkaloids loss, and anubis tek would pretty much be a big capsule made of glass.

a good method in doing tea would be this:

"Pick a small hermetic jar
Boil water, 100C, fill the jar till brim
Put some lemon to make the solution acid
Add the powdered dried shroom
Close the jar so water doesn't absorbs the oxygen from the outside
wait till it's cool, remove the solids and drink"

explaining the reasoning to why do this:

psilocybin is highly water soluble, so you don't need much water
100C boiling water removes oxygen, what prevents oxidation
lemon acidify the solution, increasing solubility even more, and stabilizing psilocin and inhibiting PsiL(that makes psilocin oxidates way faster)
ingesting the solids is not needed as this will extracts pretty much everything

I’ve had success making a potent acidic tea and adding gelatin or making “fruit leather” with mushrooms/fruit/pectin etc…

Basically ya just evaporate down to a hardish, leathery substance in a pan with some parchment paper or even just directly in the pan and scrap it up.

I use the top fan part of a dehydrator set on top of a Pyrex dish with the tea extract.
