Oh,  crap,  It seems like I used to find them as a kid,  but I reckon not  I live on the other side of Kentucky.

On a side note,  there was a huge Soft shell turtle minding it's on business off the side of the road yesterday while I was going to work.  I had my ride pull over so I could run back and get it before it got hit.Well, some pathetic piece of shit saw me running to save it and they swerved over and ran over it knocking it up in the air.  I swear I could have killed that piece of shit!

Needless to say it was still alive but it's shell was cracked open with blood gushing out.  I didn't have the heart to put it out of it's misery so I laid it off the side of the road in  shady spot.

I really hope the Karma police catch up to that piece of garbage and he gets hit by a car and suffers the same fate as that poor defenseless turtle  :mad2:

I've had maybe something like that happen to me more than once picking up roadkill.  I pull over to the side of the road, and the next car that passes me swerves to give me some room.  Not even seeing the dead critter, they run it over.

(pic tax:) who is this?

edit:  nobody seemed to notice in the woodlover's thread.  look closer

A neighbor in WA had a bumper sticker that said "Lost your pet? Check under my tires.". Pretty sure that guy ran over my cat. I had violent thoughts.

One of the Australian Micro Velvet Mites. Microtrombidiidae.
They're small and move fast on their little furry legs.

State not DC.

That part of the state has some of the highest rates of unsolved disappearances in the world.

Dang man , what are the chances that you would post that bee!

Yesterday , I was chanterelle hunting and I stepped on a nest of those! They are carpenter bees , right?

Anyway , one stung me in the back , and when I took off running , another one flew after me and it stung me right in my eye lid!

I have never known those to be so agressive like that!

i think mine is a neighborly mining bee, smaller then carpenters.
as the name implies they are quite chill.
matter of fact, i was there to ask it for a cup of sugar.

I love your turtles so much. I would love to be out walking and just see one of them!

My brother had turtles in this giant pool (he really spoilt them). My mum did most of the work and what did the turtle do? Scrambled up her chest and bit her on the lip lol. Was funny tho

For a while I thought millipedes could be dangerous, but I learned that's not really true. Millipedes can't make venom. It's just the centipedes that can be right bastards.

(Mind you centipedes are still beneficial and most aren't really dangerous, but I'd never handle one).

Wow TIL that centipedes can be venomous. I didn't know that. I don't think we have venomous ones here. At least not common ones
