Interesting Find - no pics :(

Hey there everyone. Sorry in advance, as I do not have any pictures of this interesting find. However, I'll try to make it as descrptive as possible. I found these two mushrooms in a bunch of leaves, pretty dry, somewhat shady. The stems are about 1.5 inches long, and are very white in color. The width of the stems are about .25 to .5 inches wide. The cap has NO gills, aka it is solid and curves a bit up as it meets the stem. The cap itself is a nice peak, aka pointy top, but very mellow sides (not too steep). Cap color is beige and a bit more brown around edges. Cap width is about 1 inch wide, .5 inch tall. Total, the mushroom is about 2.5 inches tall... I really thought it was interesting because i have never seen it around here, but it is very smooth and cool. Straight with no curvy stem. no bruising either, so I do not think it is active.... Anyone have an idea about what it is?? Thanks guys!!

Try cutting it in half vertically.

It sounds like a False Morel, possibly a Verpa. They should not be eaten, many of them have dangerous toxins (methylhydrazine) in them.
