Hey Gil! Good to see ya again - you’ve been missed, brother!

I gotta confess that, after having stopped my ssri antidepressants for about a month now (and after telling my primary care doc, fr): I can easily feel just how much the ssris seemed to tamp down everything for me, on both ends of the emotional spectrum.

I feel they do decrease the depth of the lows moderately ok for me after taking them for decades, but they also seem to down regulate the height of the highs…basically pulling all the joy/fun out of anything that might feel fun, which for a depressed person that ain’t much, and that’s a problem. Before, I could ride a roller coaster and it’d be like woo-de-doo. I think my smile would break if I rode one today. I just went to a local music festival, and the music was so fucking great - I was fuckin riding the wave, mostly sober.  This is something new for me, and I like it.

I am still getting ketamine treatments every 2 weeks, and am about 8 weeks out from my last shrooms.  I’ll ride this for all I can  manage!

To all, but especially for those who also live underwater most of the time: peace to you, friends! Live for those occasional bobs up to the surface to feel the sun for a few moments.

Anyway, glad I got that out of my thoughts here…sharing.

I suppose this is like serotonin level rebounding to normal? Guessing.

I have definitely been struggling with some depression. And what I'm trying to re-remind myself is that joy and suffering are interconnected.

The folks I miss and the folks I mourn, are also those that have brought the most joy into my life.

Also good to see you Gil!

And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
I'd be running up that road
Be running up that hill
With no problems

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I have been thinking about you and the positive impact your individual perspectives on life in general have had on me and my own perspective of things. I'm still working on getting back on the right track. I've come to terms with some things that need to change. Once I get through some of that change I'll be around more often. I hope you all have a safe and fun holiday weekend! I miss you guys!

Fuck yeah- wishin you health to enjoy the new place, kingboomer.
:hellyeah:

My confession is cultbased today: I can track a couple of lethargic tubs (nutcracker, tamp) to underhydrated grain. On the day I underhydrated it (15/06), I  ignored the fact they looked dry as a bone, so what would have been another hour or so MAXIMUM "work" of recooking, has put the future of these tubs into question, they're just chuggin along.
:whateverhuman:

but on the bright side, all my Zap boxes (prepped a few weeks later) are adequetly hydrated and coming along nice, ready for pseudocase within a week or so!

Fuck yeah Hippie! Those are gel tabs / windowpanes right? Never tried those myself (as they're not vegan). How do they compare to blotter / microdots / drops?

I came home today with the kids. Every outdoor project is dried up like a mofo, huge gnat infestation indoors. My nephew gave me some cold / flu kind of infection, so I'm drooling green snot while doing the laundry / watering the fucked projects / unpacking bags. Disheartening stuff.

Summer holidays around the corner. And apparently we're gearing up for the next heatwave. I feel like partying and behaving like the village idiot ('s derpy lil brother). But for now I can't even smoke a doob with my swollen throat. Gotta get rid of this goddamn virus first.

That's a big move, flap!

There's a time where a person realizes, I would benefit from this. Let's take the edge away from my moods.

And another time when you see, ah yes, I have managed for a while but now I can allow myself to feel again.

If you are interested, tryptophan supplements (taken with fruit and not after or before eating meat) can help your body make vital serotonin as well as melatonin. I tried taking it but I was tired from it often. I eat too much meat at night to use it for sleep.

I confess, that all work and no play makes beef a very dull boy and I haven't played in really... years.
I confess, my edge is so dull you could ride it to town without getting a cut and I'm making a change, lord, makin a big change.
I confess, my cult work has gone by the wayside while I toiled away at corporate interests generating much value for the shareholders.
I confess, Ive neglected my beloved community while I chased my tail in circles trying to pursue a career that ultimately never launched.

Well I'm finally done with that shit, folks. I know I've been talking about it for years, but I've finally resigned. Yesterday was my last day. I've vacated my throne of corporate horse-shit.  Turned in my company phone, my laptop, cleaned out my company truck, my office, my desk. Threw all my stupid fucking company shirts in a bag and dropped them off at goodwill. I bowed out, and nobody said a word. They'll lose half of the clients I managed by the years end, and I don't give a fuck. Stole my life from me, my health, my family, my friends, my happiness. Dangled the corporate carrot in front of my face for the better part of my 40's, and I never once got a bite what didn't come with a new mouthful of stickers and more work.

Yesterday I did a little side-job with some other corporate refugees and we had a bawl doing it. Made a lot of money and did it with corporate equipment. fuck em. Today, I'm starting the process of taking back whats mine. I'm doing a 3 or 4 day fast. Cashed out over a month of PTO, and I'm taking a stay-cation. Bought 40lbs of epsom salt and I'm not going anywhere what doesn't involve my own art and craft.

I'm tired and I'm sore. I'm bitter and I am resentful, but I'm back. I think I'll need therapy to wash the worry and fret out of my brain for good.  Might do a lil dose of this or that.

Anyway. Sorry for the self-absorbed tyrade, and I'm sorry I haven't been myself for a good long while. Sorry to be absent. Sorry I deleted Beeftube because some internet neckbeard managed to freak me out. Sorry for everything but I'm present again.
