I do that for the patches, what about to let them mature and not freeze and die. Same thing?

IWL. Same clone as last year. This was all it could do now. Bit of a bummer. None of the warm weather woodlovers had any kind of real chance all summer.

Psilocybe Subaeruginascens. Hey at least we got something 😀

Cyanescens bed has some fruits here and there.

Had I not been watering these patches every day I'm pretty sure we would have had next to no wl yet. Tomorrow is another day of full sun ahead and then supposedly, fall will finally set in.

I already decided on making at least one of the Cyanescens beds completely new by next spring.

Subaeruginosa beds have been fruiting for 4 years in a row while only getting new chips mixed in every year.
Cyanescens and Azurescens, at least the cultures I have here, seem to be at their best in year 1 and sometimes also year 2.

Now I could just leave it and harvest a few Cyans just for us every year..

Haha who am I kidding?!
One of the 2 beds needs some attention with the plants in it anyway. Everything has grown so much since I first made it into a Cyan bed. A lot needs to be pruned, some replanted or moved for accessibility.
Perfect excuses to prepare a lot of fresh wood spawn.

I'll take some Subaeruginosa pics tomorrow .

Hey Tweeq! I think the weather plays a large part. Out of all of my cyan beds, only one is showing some action, the rest is staring at their feet, hands in pockets. Tbf I haven't checked some, but I have an idea about what they'll look like. The heavy precipitation that's forecast for the weekend should get things going.

And yeah, the warm weather species... :bitch: I was really looking forwards to ovoideocystidiata and wayanadensis, nothing.

I always feed my beds with a couple of bigshoppers worth of chips in Spring, just dumped on top. Haven't seen a steep decline in output, especially with cyans.

Last pics.. of the whole thing anyways. Took several to see if I can catch some spores. A few were dropping for sure, but I probably took a few that aren't. Still some left in the pot and a second overlapping flush is sneaking in.. which might be a good indicator of when to start looking. Like some zapotecorum.

@ Piggy

I know you're in the "WLP doesn't exist" camp and that the likely cause is psychosomatic, but I think you'll find this interesting.

I've never mentioned WLP to my wife whatsoever. She decided to take a large dose of Azures while I was at work. When I got home, the first thing she told me was that she wasn't able to move for the first hour of the come up.

Someone whose never done Azures and had no knowledge of WLP experienced it.

Doesn't prove it 100% obviously, but it is an interesting data point.

I am not presuming to speak for Mr. Piggy, but I believe his theory is not that it is psychosomatic or placebo. It is that people get so very fucked up on them that they can't move.

I’ve had it happen on a number of substances.  I don’t think it’s unique to woodlovers or even mushrooms.  I’ve had it happen on weed.  It’s a reality bending drug with profound affects on physical abilities, both real and perceived.  Most anecdotal evidence I hear happens to people who are alone, without anyone to help them get up

normally we have very explosive growth around here at this time but it has only just been poor conditions, overly warm and dry I think for true initiation. I have seen a few sickly fruits lingering at the very edges but normally the beds are wall to wall. I guess the middle is staying too warm for real takeoff on pin formation.

Hopefully some good pics should come with colder conditions and some rain, sadly that is not the weather prediction currently. Maybe a very short and late season this year

it makes me sad though when the beds don't pop

No love here either. It did start raining finally a few days ago and we had our first night time temperature below 50*F yesterday so soon hopefully?

Not to be a dick but the time-line doesn't match.  People reporting WLP experience symptoms several hours after ingestion.  I've had an experience where my back went out and I was unable to stand up or walk on my own after eating APEs but I still wouldn't attribute that to WLP.

Still 90°F here in Wisconsin.  No sign of frost in sight.  Here's my sad ovoid patch.
