So regarding my question about yellowing mycelium in the species known as NZ-02, someone who has some experience with it says it’s normal with isolates and different agar formulas.
I just put it on grain.

Tried cloning again, last time nothing happened, dont know why.

Pieces just stalled on agar and no growth at all.

Lets hope better luck this time

You really don't need such large pieces of material, looks good otherwise.

You can see with these pictures I posted how small the transfer was.

Man i think i was just dissapointed because i tried with small pieces and nothing happened, this time i put a little bigger ones.

When that happens i chalk it up to not cooling my scalpel or tweezersenough

This is unusual for it to not take off. Try smashing it into the agar so it gets max hydration

I dont for plate transfers, but my solid spear scalpel is dull af and i need to cut all 4 sides like its a transfer, and a too much heat for too long will kill a sample.

Im in the market for a scalpel upgrade. Currently using a generic #3 from Besos-mart. But, I’m wanting something with a longer handle (like #7) but don’t want more Amazon junk. Already sent back scalpel shaped garbage twice.

What is this solid spear? Do you have a pic or link by chance?
Or a vendor reco for quality lab gear?

When i finally replace it im probably gonna get a traditional scalpel but it has served me well over many years
