Poison is out in the Northeast!

Chlorophyllum molybdites and Amanita bisporigera are out in NJ. The green-spored chlorophyllum molybdites is especially prevalent, appearing as clusters of LARGE white "u.f.o's" in grass. I know this isn't all that interesting to most, but there are always so many requests for ID's for C. Molybdites that can be easily preempted by explaining that they have greenish-tinged gills (and spores) and are in every other person's yard right now. The destroying angel (or similar species) I found was near oak and pine trees, pushing up through the leaf clutter. Both are poisonous in low amounts and the second will kill you.

I saw a few destroying angels last year by a lake I visit alot.

molybdites all around cali here too... saw some in capitola down here a few days ago... nice little cluster under some bushes in front of the mall...
