I do all my agar in my IP and when I PC a 1,000ml media bottle I have to lay it sideways like you are.
I did 2 things for this.
1: I use a trivet that has handles that the top of, that the bottle rests on, this method keeps the bottle secure enough to sterilize and not roll around if it may so incline to do.
2: I put an 1/8 hole offset in a lid, apply a filter patch to the hole so I am able to screw it down completely.
Then wrap the top with foil as per usual.
I lost track at 1200 plates, as I buy the boxes by 200pcs. every time so I am guestamating on the safe side, but of those 1,200 I have had 10 plates get contaminated and I am pretty sure it is because of my sterile work at the time.

The media bottles I get survive just fine with a tight cap. I use these:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WSS8LS5. They are made to be run through pressure sterilization; the product description specifically describes the caps as being autoclavable. My experience backs this up after several cycles of use.

The caps don't vent. There is a little release of air when I open the bottle to pour, nothing much.

It's not releasing air. It's sucking air in to equalize because it sealed. You don't want that.

I'm pretty sure it's releasing air, because they are hotter than when I put the caps on.  It doesn't matter much, as I'm working in front of a flow hood.
