Synthetic filter disk is what it stands for. If you search that on Google or whatever search engine some should come up.

when harvesting the truffles, we would just put the grain back in the jar and it would do another flush, if it seems like less than half a jar of grain after harvesting, you can combine two jars worth of grain into one jar, and go for the 2nd flush. I used organic rye berries, distilled water, and a pot of distilled water coffee (total water amount was the same as the original mix). The truffles loved this mix, even through the 2nd flush.

Thank you very much for this guide! I thought for stone producers it is advised to use grass seed as a substrate, but since you use rye berries I can just use the same substrate for stones, cubes and wood-lovers, great!

Hello,
A few things are not clear to me, and to begin with, I would like to ask first about the ratio:

I plan to get only one spore print and I am not sure:
  • How much rye grain I need,
  • What the ratio would be for rye grain:water:coffee:gypsum
  • The size of the jar / how many jars / How much do I put in one jar, do I fill it all the way, or just 1/4?

In the first post it was stated:
Quote:
I start it by brewing a full pot (2 quarts) of strong coffee.
In a large pot/kettle heat up 2-2.5 gallon of water and add the coffee.
Add a couple of teaspoons of gypsum and stir.

Use a cup of rye for each quart jar.

I assume this is for a larger quantity, not a single spore print?

Also, since I'm from Europe (), I'm not 100% sure if I understood the measurements correctly:

  • quart = liter (so, the size of the jar is for 1 liter?)
  • cup of rye = what is the cup size, 1/4 of quart (liter) (250ml)? Basically, 1/4 of the jar?
