There’s a place down in Port Aransas that serves “calamari planks”
It’s large calamari hood cut into large strips, and deep fried like usual.

My favorite place to get calamari.  Served with marinara/cocktail. “Virginia’s on the Bay”

I almost made this an @jalapeno poppers thread…

But I decided against it because there’s one kinda jalapeño popper I enjoy.

One of my coworkers at a sub shop I worked at a long time ago used to make them.
It was a quarter slice of jalapeño, with a sliver of sharp provolone, and wrapped with 1/3-1/2 strip of bacon.

It was a perfect balance…but the shit places sell with cream cheese, halved jalapeños, and whole strips of bacon are garbage.

There’s no balance…
