the vote happens in november and the handoff
in january.

of course, this assumes that they can come up with
a legally acceptable way of doing this without encroaching
on the subsequent term.

as for howling...I was thinking about all those shrill
conservative conspiracy nuts...they're the shrillest
of all!

That wouldn't even make a dent in the howls. In the event of an attack, it'll be the same people that will howl no matter which choice (wait/don't wait) is made.

That's the truly interesting part with all the Federal and State election laws to deal with. My guess is they'd only delay the vote in the Chicage area, or perhaps just the entire state. Of course that would seal an already likely Bush victory.

So if terrorists attack on election day and bush hangs on till he gets all his nuts arranged.That would make him a two term unelected president....potentialy
:lol:suitable end to one form of government and the beginning of another.Little bloodshed or disruption of the economic engine.What a boon for geedub if there is an attack on or near elections.
BTW I believe martial law would be used to defer questioning the lack of elections followed by a series of reactionary "laws" similar to the patriot act that will handle the legal questions as it seems there is little constitutional resistance left to the neocon agenda.

Arguing on your opinion of a future hypothetical situation and reaction is meaningless.

How this possible event is handled is up to Congress, not the president.
