Good luck finding an acoustic-electric bass for cheap...if you can even find one at your local music shop.

Because of the shitty electronics,it'll be so distorted,it's gonna sound like an electric anyway (plus you need a decent acoustic amp to get that sound)

Just get a normal acoustic (or a normal electric).

Yeah, local musikk shops hardly ever cater to the bassists... how I loathe them... :evil:

I'd suggest choosing which one is more important to you at the moment, electric or acoustic, and spending all of your money on that, so you can get at least some quality. Later, get the one you didn't get first.

Of course, you could consider finding something on Music123 or Musicians Friend... but you aren't going to be able to try it out beforehand. Of course, they do have those return policies... so maybe that is the way to go. :grin:

I'd recommend some particular models, but I'm honestly not all too familiar with acoustic-electrics....

But if you can find a good one that works for your purposes, I'd definitely say go for it. :grin:

I have a 5-string Ibanez Soundgear. I love it. I run it through a Yorkville 200 Watt Bass Master. Oh yeah.
