P.Subs indoors

Hi All.
New here.
Im going to attempt P.Subaeruginosa indoors in show box.
I have semi colonized popcorn with a mutant strain of P.Subs. Have plenty of hardwood shaving and pine bark ready to go as I live where Subs grow naturally in Australia, well sorta naturally as im south west Australia, they were introduced a loooong time ago, and I have a few outdoor patches they pop in winter.
Anyways if anyone can assist in what bulk substrate I can use and the best method it would be greatly appreciated 🙏

I’ve seen them grown in outdoor terrariums but to my knowledge they haven’t been grown indoors consistently, only found 1 brief example when I did a search, most establish outdoor beds like you’ve already done, def give it a go though 👍 from what I can gather you’re fine with most hardwoods but eucalyptus is preferable along with the pine bark you already have, wish it got cold enough where I am, they were frickin everywhere where I grew up and it wasn’t till recently I found out what they were, the thought of all those mushroom beds I trampled as a teenager haunt me ):

Well im gonna have a crack at it, will prep some bulk substrate today. Will grow them in my shed as its getting down to 8c at night here atm, fingers crossed.
Failing that they can join my backyard with many friends 👍🏼

Interested to know did you colonise using established mycelium from a wild patch or start from spores ? Cheers

I obtained LC from Victoria, not 100% sure the its origin.
Pumped a full 10ml into my popcorn jar. It was medium paced to colonize, but never went super myc like my cubes do

Ok so its a slow one, but looks promising this far.
Temps are dropping in the shed tent, fingers crossed for some success.

This is the substrate i gathered from the property.
Pine bark, jarrah sawdust, jarrah and marri humus and mixed with some CVG and Calcium hrdroxide.

Whatever substrate you use should be a little bit degraded. You don't want fresh hardwood shavings or fresh pine bark as fresh wood contains natural fungicides produced by the plant. Good luck, hope it works out for you!
