My test bed of popcorn.

So I figured while I am experimenting I would inject a jar of popcorn with 4CC's of spores I had left over from knocking up my baby bottles.

About 4 days ago I took a jar of popcorn I had PC'd and shot the whole load in there. I could immediately tell I had added a LOT of moisture to the jar and figured that I could chock this up to a failed experiment. I mean there was copious moisture. There appeared to be no puddles on the bottom, but each kernel was way saturated.

Well much to my surprise I just checked in on the jar and was shocked to see kernels just bursting forth with mycelium! Nice, fuzzy, white lovely mycelium! I am kind of shocked. It looks to me like this popcorn may be ready to transfer to poo before my PF jars will be done. I started the PF's 15 days ago and as I said, started the popcorn 4 days ago.

If this is what's to be expected of grains, I whole-heartedly recommend that all PF fans try grains, of some sort, at least once in your travels. Even if you have to use a sub-standard substrate like Coir....it appears to be well worth the effort.

More is better, so long as you don't over-do it.

When using LC's.

If it appears I injected a BIT MUCH. :eek:

I simply lay the jar on it's side & roll it REAL SLOW.

So the LC solution gets spread evenly, in the wbs/grain mixture.

As long as no moisture POOLS in the bottom of the jar.
You are usually, good to go.
