I read somewhere that most WBS mixes are treated with fungicide. I've been using national geographgic brand. am i safe? can anyone recommend some brands to get and what types of seed to get? any specific (and easy) birdseed teks you might reccomend?

one more question, now of the teks say anything about adding additional water to the WBS after soaking and rinsing. does the mycl just use the water soaked up by the WBS to grow?

if you just simmer them for 20 min after soaking for 24 hours then all you have to do is load them into your jars. simmer adds enough water to the grain. after simmering you need to let the grain drain a bit. you what to make sure that you get not one water drop from the grain before loading them into the jars. i put them on a peice of screen door a wait a bit for the water to drain. rather than that its great tek cause you dont have to mess with adding the wrong amount of water further cursing your grow. shroom on!!

if u soak for 24 hours its full of water.. no need for simmer.. simmering is for those who cant wait for the grain to sit.. Plus some people have problems with the grain smell and the grain germinating
