Playing sad songs and feeling horrible.
    #2864094 - 07/07/04 08:01 AM (19 years, 8 months ago)

(Posting here is rather against my OTD religion). :smirk:

It can be wonderful to do at times.

I recommend Old and Wise - Alan Parsons Project
It reminds me that we have a pretty short span here. And remembers me of all the good things/times i've had in the past.

Please post your sad song here, with a brief explanation.

Don't be sad, people care!
Hmm..a sad song. The only song I could think of is not really a sad song. But it makes me sad. "Dangerously in Love"

It makes me sad because I have been in love, but I've never been in love so much that it made me feel the way she does in this song. I want to feel that. I'm lonely, so this song is sad for me.

I don't know about others, but I can't really make out the difference between track name and artist. Maybe setting it up like this helps:

this is the track title - this is the artist name

So just add a little - to the thing. That way we know what to search for.  :smirk:

Sidsel Endresen and Bugge Wesseltoft - Birds

This song was actually generously given to me by a fellow Shroomerite ivi.

Again, it rubs against how transience of life and loved ones. Nevertheless, the song harbors an inkling of hope and motivation; subtle yet potent.

I also like Joe Hisaishi - The Rain. It's somewhat depressing, but relaxing in a way. In my perspective, it is a song of reflection and nostalgia. (that's just me)

Damn, another track which is not shared somewhere on a website.
I have no kazaa or other p2p sharing option. Would you be able to put it online somewhere so I could download and hear it? It sounds like its really worth hearing.  :smirk:

When I am depressed a bit and want to feel the beautiful side of the dark emotion, some sad music is perfect.

Portishead are perfect for such moods, the voice of vocallist Beth Glibbons is so sad and full of sorrow

Some Aphex Twin stuff is also very sad...

Thanks, again. But I made this thread because sadness can be good as well.
And I wanted to experience some music from other people.

Allan Parsons was the engineer when "Darkside of the Moon" was recorded
There isnt many people who really know a lot about Allan Parsons...
I was sitting in my bathtub getting ready to go to my girlfriends funeral...This song by Parsons started going thru my mind
I knew i had that song on cd so i found it and put it on the end of the tape with several other songs i had recorded earlier for her funeral...the song was "Time" and i had the funeral dude play it when everybody was leaving/viewing the body...there wasnt many dry eyes when we were leaving.
